Documenting and exploring queer communities throughout the city and around the world.
I am a documentarian and producer focused on utilizing creative collaborations as a means of building community relationships and deconstructing boundaries. I have spent the last several years in Chicago integrating with creative members of queer communities as the founder of JRV MAJESTY Productions, Creative Director of Chicago IRL, teaching artist with About Face Youth Theater, and host and curator of monthly performance event LEXICA part of the Salonathon series. My work is informed by a social justice education frameworks developed through interning with the Broadway Youth Center and Night Ministry.
Ongoing projects include the annual performance event QUEER, ILL, & OKAY exploring new narratives about living with HIV and other forms of mental and chronic illness, an oral history series, and the monthly artist series Salonathon: LEXICA.
I am culturally explorative guy and dig all forms of mythological study and its representations throughout pop-culture.
I have a dog and a Samson.
I busy myself in my spare time with reading and dreams of grandeur.
Life has become equal parts resist, resist, resist and let go.
