About Me

I'm a retired physicist and data scientist who now creates youtube videos on science and philosophy topics. If you like, you can have a look here: https://www.youtube.com/@MuseumOfWonders

I just finished a ten month trip around the US, Canada, Mexico, and Ecuador. Now I'm reestablishing myself in AIbuquerque. I enjoy reading and hiking.

I'm covid vaccinated and boosted.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have hugely enjoyed getting to know guests and hosts from such different backgrounds and perspectives, from an executive chef, to a super successful property developer, to a jade sculptor, to a theologian, to a Hobo Queen, to the former Miss Colorado. I'm excited to meet additional new friends and learn about their lives and points of view.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Mostly classic rock dinosaurs like Jethro Tull, Yes, ELP, but also newer stuff from the 80s and 90s. Also, the Tchaikovsky violin concerto rocks!

Movies: AI, Her, Arrival, 2001, and lots more science fiction. Also The Hunt for Red October.

Books: Classic novels and short stories, especially Henry James, Joseph Conrad, and the 19th century Russians.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

How about scuba diving with hammerhead sharks in the Galapagos? That was amazing. The current was strong, so once leaving the the rafts we would drop seventy feet to the bottom and grab onto some rocks. Then we'd look up to see dozens of circling sharks. I always wondered where they were as we were on the way down!

Teach, Learn, Share

You'd be staying on my couch (good for folks up to about 5'6"), or on a good camping pad on the floor. I'd be glad to introduce you to hiking trails in the Sandia mountains, and some New Mexican eating and drinking spots if interested.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Very happy to help with whatever needs doing around the house, share stories, or a drink or a meal.
