I need to sort my life out. It's a lifelong project.
I'm an architect and EFL (English language) teacher. I love travel, culture, art and meeting people. By good fortune and a bit of work, my career path has allowed me to do these things in a few different countries and long may it continue.
Live to learn, learn to live. And enjoy the experience.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm fairly new to this.
I'm interested in all kinds of music, film, history, art, literature, cafes, bars, mountains, bicycle shops, rivers, trees (nature in general) and large comfy armchairs. Plus, people to talk to on rainy nights.
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: The Shop Around The Corner; Lost In Translation; Casablanca
Music: Sufjan Stevens; Gustav Mahler; Joni Mitchell; Miles Davis
Books: Our Man In Havana by Graham Greene; A Perfect Day for Bananafish by J.D. Salinger; The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami; The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoevsky
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've cycled across America (Maine to Oregon 2007); I've swam with sharks and dolphins in the Bahamas; I've climbed quite a lot of mountains in Europe and finally; I've played drums in a punk band, although that was some time ago.
Teach, Learn, Share
