Me name is Eugene Reimer, born in the cold Siberia but of German descent. Together with my German and Russian passport in my backpack I can count myself to those people who traveled for a long time and it is still ongoing. At this moment I have traveled 84 countries.
It all started a couple years ago, my life was just as normal as everybody else’s life. I have finished my apprentice as a “trader in retail sale” and I also achieved to be manager of a supermarket. But there was still something missing. The faith to discover and travel different countries and cities which I have since my youth was still ongoing. Throughout carpooling which I have done in Germany I got to know all different kind of peoples. The long hours spent in a car with complete strangers from different horizons, reshaping the world while driving on the German autobahn, gave me a thirst for new adventures. So I took the leap of faith, sold my car and quit my job including my whole life I had before, to travel the world. This was in summer 2010. Some people would say I am homeless but I am not. I can affirm that I made the world to my home. With friends I have made, I create my own world in every country. After all this I consider myself not anymore Russian or German, I am a citizen of the world.
My journey is not so uncommon today, as more and more people are leaving the daily grind to live a life of travel. According to the Travelers’ Century Club, a club only accessible to those who have travelled to 100 countries or more, “more people are travelling because it is easier to fly or cruise to areas that were previously not accessible. It is easier than ever to travel around the world with several hundred combinations with all airline groups” is what I have learnt. Sometimes I don’t sleep at night, until I get cheaper tickets. It took me for example 11 flights to get to Australia, but it only cost me 750 euros. I can count by now 75 countries I have traveled, more Eastern Europe, Australia, Asia and parts of Africa. All America will be come up in the future. The travelers’ social network Couch Surfing has also been a great tool, providing me with free accommodation, carpools, but most importantly, the privilege of discovering a country with local peoples, far away from the beaten tracks of the touristic roads and it always feels like home. Today, my goal is to make my desire to a job. I want to help especially Backpackers in Australia, New Zealand and Canada with my experience. Due to my own workstations and friends I was able to collect a big amount of contacts to many farms in Australia. In the last years I was able to place backpackers. Tendency: rising!! In addition I place people at friends’ houses all over the world for free or small amount accommodation. Due to this you have the possibility to stay with native families or singles and being able to see behind the curtain! Another benefit is that a lot of my friends are tour operators so they can offer you the best tours for the best price. In the end you can only profit. What my team and I also want to offer backpackers, you will find here on the homepage. Thanks for your visit and have fun rifle through.
