Hola, soy Jose, peruano y director audiovisual. El cine es y será siempre una de mis grandes pasiones, aunque también disfruto explorar nuevos caminos en la tecnología.

Viajar es otra de mis pasiones. He recorrido varios países de Latinoamérica, Europa y Asia, pero lo que más me interesa es conocer la cultura real y cotidiana de los lugares que visito, más allá de lo turístico. Me encanta conversar, aprender de la gente y compartir experiencias auténticas.

Soy amante de la fotografía y viajo siempre con mis cámaras de rollo, una de formato medio y otra de 35mm. Para mí, capturar momentos y escenas es parte esencial de cómo vivo cada viaje.

Como buen peruano, disfruto muchísimo de la cocina. Me encanta preparar platos de mi país y de otros lugares, pero lo que más valoro es poder intercambiar conocimientos culinarios, aprender y cocinar junto a mis anfitriones o huéspedes. Creo que la cocina es una de las formas más bonitas de agradecer la hospitalidad y generar conexiones reales.

Creo profundamente en tender puentes en lugar de muros, y Couchsurfing me parece una manera única de conectar con personas, compartir cultura y crear lazos sinceros.

Hi, I’m Jose, a Peruvian audiovisual director. Cinema is and always will be one of my greatest passions, though I also enjoy exploring new paths in technology.

Traveling is another passion of mine. I’ve visited several countries across Latin America, Europe, and Asia, but what I truly value is experiencing the everyday culture of the places I visit, beyond the typical tourist view. I enjoy good conversations, learning from people, and sharing authentic experiences.

I’m passionate about photography and always travel with my film cameras, one medium format and one 35mm. Capturing moments and scenes is an essential part of how I experience each journey.

Like any good Peruvian, I truly enjoy cooking. I love preparing dishes from my country as well as from other cuisines, but what I value most is exchanging culinary knowledge, learning, and cooking together with my hosts or guests. For me, food is one of the most special ways to give thanks and build real connections.

I strongly believe in building bridges instead of walls, and I see Couchsurfing as a unique way to connect with people, share cultures, and create meaningful bonds.

Más que un techo, busco compartir una conversación, una comida, una caminata o simplemente un momento que haga único cada viaje. Me gusta la idea de dar y recibir hospitalidad de manera auténtica, construyendo puentes en lugar de muros.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

He viajado por casi todo el Perú con mi mochila y, en algún momento, también por países cercanos vendiendo artesanías. Estoy siempre dispuesto a apoyar a quien pueda que venga.

Una de las experiencias más increíbles que he vivido fue viajar varias veces a La Rinconada, en Puno, para grabar un documental. Es la ciudad más alta del mundo, ubicada a 5,200 metros sobre el nivel del mar, y estar allí fue una experiencia única e inolvidable.

I’ve traveled through almost all of Peru with my backpack, and at one point I also traveled through nearby countries selling handicrafts. I’m always willing to support travelers who come my way.

One of the most incredible experiences I’ve had was traveling several times to La Rinconada, in Puno, to film a documentary. It’s the highest city in the world, located at 5,200 meters above sea level, and being there was a truly unique and unforgettable experience.
