I'm many things - a programmer, a nursing student, a musician, a cook, a comedian. I'm constantly striving for improvement and love to try new things. I'm an optimist - there's too much in life that is good and interesting to think otherwise. The trick is to take find the time to smell the roses and drink the beers. And never, ever take yourself too seriously.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is the best way to travel and meet people. Instead of just staying in some hotel or with other travelers at a hostel, Couchsurfing lets you explore another city or another culture and really get to know the place by getting to know the people.
I'm pretty into video games. I've played them since I was a child and started making my own in college. They are far from my only passion, however. I love doing things outside - building campfires, long bike rides, pickup games of soccer or volleyball. I love to play guitar and would be happy to jam with some other couchsurfers. I'm a craft beer enthusiast and have dabbled in homebrewing. I love watching basketball (go Cavs!) and movies (go Aranofsky!) I might generously be called well-read. I've jumped out of an airplane and ran marathons. I'm not picky when it comes to food, but I do love to cook. I do improv comedy, a la 'Who's Line Is It Anyway?', and I play a lot of board games - from chess and Go to Cataan and Agricola.
Music, Movies, and Books
I mostly listen to ska, punk, jazz, blues, hip hop, and folk. As far as playing guitar, I play everything above plus some classical and flamenco.I'm a pretty avid movie watcher and I'll take whatever you can throw at me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Years ago, I played in the Cleveland High School Rockoff, a 'battle of the bands'. It was the first time we performed, but the crowd was singing along with us. Hearing a crowd singing the lyrics you wrote is an amazing experience
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd be happy to teach people a little something on guitar. I've been playing for ten years now and I'm pretty good by now. Whatever you get enthusiastic about, whatever unleashes your inner nerd - that's what I'd like you to teach me :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love cooking and the fantastic variety of food the world contains. I'm happy to cook an 'American' meal for visitors or for hosts, and I'm happy to learn a little bit about different styles of cooking.
