About Me
Hi! I’m Joyat 👋🏼I’m an IT engineer currently pursuing my Master’s in Electrical Engineering in Germany. Outside of my studies, I’m deeply passionate about traveling, learning about new cultures, and meeting people from all walks of life.I usually travel with my wife, Manaswi—she’s a medical doctor now studying Neuroscience. We’re both curious, open-minded, and love connecting with others through stories, shared meals, and local experiences.Couchsurfing, for us, is the perfect way to meet kind people, discover places through a local lens, and exchange a little piece of our cultures. We’re tidy, respectful guests who are always happy to help out, cook something from home, or just enjoy a good conversation.
Looking forward to crossing paths and making memories together 🌍✨
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For me, travel is all about people. I’m not just curious about places—I’m curious about how people live, what their daily lives look like, what they eat, talk about, celebrate, and believe in. Couchsurfing lets me experience a place through its people, not just its landmarks.I love connecting with locals, hearing real stories, and getting a feel for everyday life in different cultures. It’s not about tourist attractions—it’s about the human experience. I also enjoy sharing my own culture, food, and stories in return.
Couchsurfing is a beautiful way to create meaningful connections, exchange perspectives, and build memories that go beyond just travel.

Music, Movies, and Books
🎶 Music:
I enjoy a wide mix—everything from soft indie, classic rock, and English classical to Bengali folk and instrumental music. I’m drawn to songs that tell a story or create a mood. Whether it’s a soulful melody or a cinematic instrumental, music helps me feel deeply connected to the world. I’m always curious to explore new sounds from different cultures and would love to learn more about the music others enjoy.
🎬 Movies:
I love thought-provoking films, emotional dramas, and stories inspired by real life. Some of my all-time favorites include Into the Wild, The Pursuit of Happyness, and The Matrix. I also enjoy documentaries and movies with strong messages or beautiful storytelling—films that stay with you long after the credits roll.
📚 Books:
Books are my safe haven—I can read for days without taking a break. I love stories that explore the human mind, history, culture, and personal transformation. Some of the books that have moved or inspired me include 1984, Don Quixote, War and Peace, Anna Karenina, The Mahabharata, The Odyssey, and Sapiens. I enjoy both fiction and nonfiction, and Bengali literature also holds a special place in my reading life.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Moved to a new country to start a completely different chapter of my life—with just a backpack, a dream, and my wife by my side. Leaving behind the familiar to chase education, growth, and new experiences in Germany has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding things I’ve ever done. It’s taught me resilience, adaptability, and the beauty of starting over.
Teach, Learn, Share
🧠 Teach: I’d be happy to share what I know about tech, engineering, studying in Germany, or even tips on moving abroad and adapting to a new culture. I can also teach you how to cook simple Bangladeshi meals or introduce you to some of our customs, language, and traditions.
🌍 Learn: I’m always curious to learn how people live, think, and celebrate life in different parts of the world. I’d love to learn about your language, music, daily routines, or even how you make your favorite local dish. I’m also eager to discover new philosophies, ways of thinking, and personal stories that broaden my perspective.
🤝 Share: I’d love to share stories, food, laughter, and real conversations. Whether it’s a quiet dinner, a walk through your neighborhood, or a deep late-night chat—I value genuine connections and cultural exchange over anything fancy.
What I Can Share with Hosts
can share good conversation, positive energy, and a deep curiosity about the world. I love listening to people’s stories and sharing my own—from growing up in Bangladesh to studying and living in Germany.
If you’re interested, I’d be happy to cook you a homemade Bangladeshi meal, teach you a few phrases in Bengali, or chat about tech, travel, culture, and life as an international student.
I’m also a respectful and tidy guest—I always try to leave a space better than I found it. Whether it’s helping around the house, doing the dishes, or just being present and kind, I believe in giving back to the people who open their homes to me.
