ABOUT ME

Oi!

My name is José Pando Lucas. I was born in Porto, Portugal, but my brain was formed in the mountains of Trás-os-Montes in the villages of Fornos and Freixo de Espada à Cinta. I am 25 years old. I finished my Painting degree in Prague, Czech Republic as an Erasmus student.
I am interested in all sorts of things, from old ladies with boxing gloves (Harmony Korine) to extraterrestrial purple aliens who want to steal my chocolate candies. I also believe in staying in transit, in intersections, in good kindof confusion (no self-righteousness please!), in youth attack, in do it yourself, and in ACTION!
Lately I've been developing both painting and video projects on several subjects, mainly about multi culture, union, feminism and loving (something, somewhat, somewhere, someone).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I don't have a house of my own, so I can't really accommodate incoming surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am not very active on couchsurfing but I am used to host and being hosted while travelling. Also squatting :-) I have hitchhiked from Prague to Romania, and couchsurfed a bit while in Budapest.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC!

I grew up listening to all the old punk bands from the 70s and 80s, such as Dead Kennedys and The Toy Dolls just to name a few. I also listened to a lot of the newer punk rock throughout my 15 years, like Pennywise and catch22. I was skating hard back then!

Now I could say that I listen to a lot more, from more aggressive types to relaxed and calm sounds. From Jeff Buckley and Arcade Fire to Streetlight Manifesto etc

MOVIES!

I'm a fan of independent and experimental cinema. Non sense narratives and characters out of place have always inspired me!

Harmony Korine, Tarantino, David Lynch, Almodovar are always worth watching.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook some nice sweet stuff (cakes, chocolate mousse! but I prefer doing it with the Portuguese ingredients... ;) ).

Also I am vegetarian so I twisted some typical portuguese dishes to make them meat/fish-free.
