First two names are Juan Orlando and I left Ecuador when I was two years old and lived in NYC until I was thirteen. Living in Ecuador for three and a half years when I was a teenager in the late 90s made me realize how much I loved its culture and much slower pace of life. Not everything is about money and solidarity for other people in helping them have better lives is something I truly learned there. Moving back to NY when I was sixteen was tough but gave me the necessary tools and and additional life teachings to make me the person I am today. For that I’ll always be grateful. Now I’m back in Ecuador trying to succeed as an entrepreneur. Trying to help people and using all the knowledge I’ve acquired to make it a happy life for not only myself but others as well. Mis nombres son Juan Orlando y me fui de Ecuador cuando tenía dos años y viví en NYC hasta que tenía trece años. Viviendo en Ecuador por tres años y medio cuando era adolescente al final de la década de los 90 me hizo ver cuanto amaba su cultura y ritmo de vida más tranquilo. No todo tiene que ver con dinero y la solidaridad por otra gente para que tengan una mejor vida es algo que verdaderamente aprendí allí. Mudándome nuevamente a NY cuando tenía dieciséis años era difícil pero me dio las herramientas necesarias y aún más enseñanzas de la vida para convertirme en la persona que soy ahora. Por eso siempre estaré agradecido. Ahora estoy de regreso en Ecuador tratando de progresar como emprendedor. Tratando de ayudar a personas y usando todos los conocimientos que tengo para hacer una vida feliz no solamente para mi sino para demás personas también. Gone cross country (US) twice in three weeks, gone to college as an undocumented immigrant and made it out alive, helped my grandparents and rest of my family come out alive from a house fire; also, went back in the house to get my grandpa’s breathing machine after I realized he wasn’t going to be able to live without it.
