About Me

Funny how I feel the urge to rewrite this description almost every year… I guess that means I’m evolving 😂
I’m just a Serbian girl who deeply respects anyone brave enough to land in a new country alone. If you’re that person, I’ve got you, I’ll make sure you feel safe, fed, and properly introduced to Serbian culture (that includes kafanas and probably too much food).

When I travel, I look for real connection, shared curiosity, similar energy, meaningful conversations that stretch into the night.
Different backgrounds, different stories, different ways of seeing the world are my kind of soul food. I am in a constant search for good people, that deep connection between two persons thirsty for knowledge and new experiences, willing to exchange it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I very much appreciate when someone willingly decides to share their everyday life with me, their space, their time, their food, their family and friends' company by hosting me. Kind of restores my faith in humanity. I love making international friends, speaking foreign languages, trying to descyphre the cultural differences and finding the similarities.

Ultimately, I realised that when I host someone, I feel like I am traveling myself, just by listening to all kinds of stories and adventures from different kinds of people... I love making them feel warm, welcome and comfortable in my own home.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any type of music that moves me, makes me feel something. The 60s and 70s rock is my heart and my soul, but I also love soul, funk, indie pop-rock, flamenco, traditional music of my country, reguetón...

I am a big Spanish literature lover (mostly Spanish postwar realism). Some of my favourite books are "Nada" by Carmen Laforet, "El Camino" by Miguel Delibes, Jack Kerouak's "On the Road", "California Blues" by Mika Oklopdzic (Serbian writer whose work was inspired by the beat generation) ... anything that has to do with real life and existencialism mostly

Same for the movies I watch, I prefer non-fiction, real life events... I do not like SF, fantasy, horrors or stuff like that (although there are a few exceptions). Some of my favorite movies are:
The Motorcycle Diaries
American History X
Stand by me
Central do Brasil
Cría Cuervos
Paris, Texas
Princess Mononoke
Amores perros
The Pusher trilogy
Searching for Sugar man
Cinema Paradiso
and the list goes on...
