About Me

It has been a good journey and I continue to learn and be grateful for my life thus far. I am lucky to be borned in a country that made education compulsory for girls. But I started out as a tomboy, learnt to buck the stereotype of the submissive Asian woman a long time ago. Then, haha, I learnt that you do not have to look like a guy to be strong. Success, failure, love, heartbreak, I embrace it all. I also learnt to curb my sharp tongue and be guided by love and compassion.
People call me a connector. I love helping people and making change happen.
If you are requesting a couch, please note:
My hosting experience so far is not so great for my guests because my home is outside the city with no public transport route. Access by either Tuk Tuk or Song Thaew (Red Truck Taxi) costs Baht 250 per trip and when you compare this with getting a room in a guesthouse for Baht 500 a night, it ends up being easier to stay in the city.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I live in Chiang Mai, a city which is one of the top destinations in Thailand. Here I have met and played host to many people from around the world. Those enriching experiences have shown me that this is really the best way to get to know people and to truly appreciate the diversity of this world.
Similarly, when I travel, I really hope to be able to connect with people, enjoy authentic conversations and be shown a different culture.

Interests

I have my extrovert moments when I enjoy meeting people, exchanging stories and generally enjoying uplifting conversations. As a relocation consultant, I get to meet various different people and I enjoy helping them discover new opportunities in life.
Humour and witty repartee is important too! I also enjoy badminton, swimming and food!
But I also have my introvert needs, which are reading, thinking or doing handicrafts.
In between I spend time on social media with a focus on arm-chair activism!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I met a German couple who made fetish leather clothes and got the crazy idea to organize a Leather and Lace Lingerie Extravaganza that raised funds for a children's home. I convinced the dealers of Harley Davidson and Triumph motorbikes to bring their big bikes to display at the show by telling them that I'll have girls in leather! :-)
Beautiful people volunteered to be models, musicians and salsa dancers performed for free. Lots of people came to the show. We all had fun and the money went to a home for 300 children. I got to keep my PVC dress! :-P

Teach, Learn, Share

My life's journey has taught me that whether it be teaching, learning or sharing, all are to be done with love, humility and compassion.
I reach out to the lonely people and teach them about the value of human connection above all.
I learn not to judge people but rather to practise compassion as a first instinct...for we all walked different paths.
I share my intuitions & insights and use my skills to touch lives.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My friends tell me that I have loads of funny anecdotes. So I guess I love telling stories, adding threads to the fabric of this human existence. I am in that comfortable zone between my occidental and oriental values.
