HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

More than happy to host interesting people, show them around and generally help out!
We have a lovely house in Tooting, SW London, which is very convenient for the airports and Central London. We have a gorgeous British Golden cat, Mr Pickle.
I am quite liberal and VERY ANTI-BREXIT. Will not host Brexiteers or anti vaxxers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

2 brilliant experiences in Japan and Norway.. Some events back here in London- it is a brilliant way of meeting people and getting involved in the local CS communities!

Through experience- if you want to stay with me during the weekdays, please make sure you have things to do, people to see etc. and can generally look after yourselves as I am quite busy.

I prefer shorter stays (but not 1 night, as it is a waste of time), and especially around the weekends.

I would like to actually meet people and have genuine conversations with them, so if you're looking for a bed only/coming for work interviews etc, I may not be the best person to contact!

I get a lot of requests and I tend to accept 1-2 every few months only. Also, I prefer people over 30.

PLEASE NOTE: you must have at least a few positive references and your profile must be as complete as possible. DO NOT contact me if you have NO HOST references. I understand last minute requests but if you haven't filled out your profile I will most likely NOT host you.

Interests

Food, wine, travelling, reading, music.. Lots and lots- I do not want to put myself into categories as I am always open to new experiences (within reason, I am a scientist after all.. ;-)
I also like long walks and generally keeping fit (one needs to do something about those wine calories!)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like rock, industrial, world music, and some charts (but more interesting stuff, not Taylor Swift, sorry).. Also classics (50's, 60's etc...).
Amongst my favourite books would be A 100 Years of Solitude, Animal Farm, Catch-22, Portnoy's Complaint, Miss Smila's Feeling for Snow, any of Haruki Murakami books... That sort of thing.
