About Me
Hey there! I’m Vin or Joe— a full-time office guy, part-time wanderer, and full-time believer that the world is kinder than we think.
Most of the time, I travel solo with just my backpack and curiosity. But lately, I’ve been lucky to have the best travel buddy: my 76-year-old mom! Yes, you read that right. She’s full of energy, always ready for the next adventure.
We’ve explored Malaysia, Singapore, Hongkong, Thailand, Japan, and more. Traveling with her has taught me to slow down, look closer, and appreciate the small things — like a warm bowl of soup after a long walk or a quiet park in the middle of a busy city.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’ve been lucky to experience the kindness of strangers while traveling — from someone walking me to the right train, someone who waiting on the same bus and become friends until now. It made me realize: home isn’t just a place — it’s a feeling people create.
When I’m not traveling, I love hosting or meeting travelers, even just for a chat or a cup of tea. I know how much a warm welcome can mean when you’re far from home. Whether you need a place to sleep or just want to exchange stories and culture, my door is open (as long as my schedule allows 😊).
Hosting lets me keep that travel spirit alive, even when I’m not on the road. It’s also a way to show people that Indonesia is more than just Bali — it’s warmth, hospitality, and sambal that might blow your mind.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed to the top of Piaynemo in Raja Ampat — hundreds of steep steps under the tropical sun — with my 76-year-old mom by my side, both of us sweaty, tired, but smiling like kids at the top. The view? Absolutely unreal. The fact that we did it together? Even better.
Oh, and once we did a land trip from Thailand, through Cambodia, all the way to Vietnam — no planes, just buses, trains, tuk-tuks, and a shared spirit of adventure. My mom may not have a passport full of stamps, but she’s got a heart full of stories.
