Hi :)

I just finished my master's degree in engineering here in Toronto and before I start a real job I'm taking some time off to travel. At the end of February I'll be heading to India and Thailand with my boyfriend, and the rest of my trip is still to be determined. At some point during my trip I will be traveling alone and the couchsurfing community was recommended to me as a great way to meet people and see new places.

I like to think I'm open to new experiences and I'm an enthusiastic, easy-to-entertain, quick to laugh type of person.

I have a strong interest in the physical world, both natural and built environments. I'm particularly interested in building energy efficiency and have based my career path and post-secondary education around this interest.

I am a fairly active person and I like sports; I play basketball and ball hockey recreationally. I also like to walk/bike around aimlessly.

I like almost all kinds of music and discovering new music is one of my favourite pass-times. I love that it's endless and that no matter how much I want to, I'll never be able to hear all of it. I am always up for going to hear live music of any genre.

Right now my favourite artists are Grimes, Flume, Kendrick Lamar, and Deadmau5 although my favourite band will probably always be the Shins.

So you could say my taste is very North-American and right now I'm on a bit of an indie and electronic kick.

I don't watch a lot of movies - I prefer TV shows.

My favourite genres of books are historical fiction (like Alias Grace, the Poisonwood Bible), soft sci-fi (like Ender's Game and 1984), and fantasy (like Game of Thrones)
