Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Revisiting the network after an unpleasant experience living with a Couchsurfer after first moving to San Francisco. Am trying to stay open minded as every experience before that has been positive, and one bad apple shouldn't ruin the whole batch. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Informally Couchsurfed for years, then had fantastic experiences last year while officially using the site to travel around Europe during my year getting my Master's degree abroad.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Getting upgraded to first class for no reason on a migrant-heavy flight from Russia to Tajikistan, after being gripped with fear that I'd somehow be held and taken captive by the KGB.
Teach, Learn, Share
I spent the last year doing research on Korean adoption, and recently flew to Seoul to present my final dissertation at their massive triannual conference. I love talking to others who may be curious to know anything more, and am interested in all different opinions and experiences of what family means.
My Interests
Different kinds of people, cultures and experiences. Self-professed travel opportunist who will most likely show up on your door if you even casually drop an invitation to somewhere I've never been before.
