About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to get settled into my new city, and explore everything it has to offer.

ABOUT ME

I am a fun loving person, and I am open to new adventures or ideas. I am easy to get along with, and I always am interested in meeting new friends! I enjoy knowing that I have the ability to move whenever, and mostly wherever I want to. I have lived in Minnesota for most of my life, but I have also done some traveling and living in other countries, and now my new temporary home is Las Vegas!

vccPHILOSOPHY

I think that it is important to experience all different sorts of cultures, rather than staying in one spot for your whole life. I think the fear of the unknown causes a lot of people to miss out on life-changing experiences, and personally, I definitely do not want to miss out on those!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have not had much of an opportunity to use couchsurfing, so I have not been able to participate much, but hopefully I can share some memorable experiences with other couchsurfers in the very near future. I was able to host a couchsurfer at my apartment while he was in Minnesota, and it was a great time. My friend and I were able to show him some parts of Minneapolis, and we got along very well! I plan on starting an adventure in the near future, and I think that the locals are important to talk to/spend time with since they are familiar with the culture and are able to show you around.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met with a man from Berlin while I was visiting Chicago by myself. We met up to get a couple of beers and listen to music at a venue. We went to Six Flags the following day, and I really enjoyed his company.

Interests

I like to do a lot of things in my spare time, especially in the summer. I love going to shows, and I usually look forward to taking time off work and going to music festivals, but I have recently realized that there is a big world out there, and I want to jump into the unknown and see it. I really enjoy learning, and I know there is a lot to learn from people all around the world. I love traveling, meeting new people, and experiencing different settings. I strongly believe that you need to put yourself out of your comfort zone in order to grow as a person and gain knowledge about the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of movies, especially horror movies, but I'm kind of cynical when it comes to horror movies. I really enjoy mystical-like shows and movies, because I enjoy being taken to a different world when I watch them. I really just enjoy any movie that can keep my attention, so I would be willing to watch any movie that could do that.

I really enjoy most types of music, although I don't like the newer country. Electronic music used to be my music of choice, but lately, blue grass has grown on me quite a bit, along with indie rock. I will always love Sublime because I think they have a unique sound that no one else can match, but I listen to all sorts of music. However, I often come across the music I like while I am at a social gathering, or in a friend's car, and then look up the rest of that artists music. I love how much music is present in the world, and I love to come across new songs and genres.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I stayed with a Fijian family in their village, and they showed my traveling friends and myself the most loving home for the time we were there. We shared kava and stories in the kava circle, and they welcomed us into their home and refused to let us help them cook or clean. They were super sweet, and became our Fijian family.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am extremely fascinated by the brain and it's functioning. I think that it is important because it controls our movements, thoughts, perceptions, emotions, motivation, and well, everything! I plan to continue learning about it, and I know a few of the basics, but I hope that someday I will be able to contribute something to the field of neuroscience. Although this is still true, I also have enjoyed my time traveling. I feel like it is an addiction once you get out there! I would love to share traveling experiences! Also, I love to discuss what is going on in the world, because sometimes it seems like there is nothing you can do to help improve it, but discussing it makes it seem more obtainable.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love cooking, so I can always share that, but most of the time it is an experiment, so there are never any guarantees that it will be good! I welcome, and am very open-minded to, new experiences, so I am willing to try new things. I enjoy conversing about random topics and understanding others' perceptions, so I don't think it would be difficult to find something to talk about.
