Overview
About Me
“I’m a Kurdish guy living in the beautiful mountain town of Soran with my big, loving family. Growing up in such a close-knit and culturally rich environment has always inspired me to explore the world beyond my hometown. I’m deeply passionate about learning about different cultures, understanding how people live, think, and express themselves in unique ways. This curiosity drives me to connect with others from all walks of life and continually expand my perspective.”
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I genuinely enjoy connecting with people from all walks of life. I believe that every person has something valuable to share—whether it’s a story, a perspective, a tradition, or just a good laugh. For me, meeting new people is one of the most enriching parts of life. It opens my mind, challenges my views, and helps me grow as a person.
Coming from a Kurdish background, I’ve always been surrounded by strong community values and warm hospitality, and Couchsurfing feels like a global extension of that spirit. As they say, “variety is the spice of life,” and I truly believe that the more we learn about each other, the more beautiful and connected the world becomes.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I enjoy listening to a mix of emotional and meaningful songs. Some of my favorites include “Father and Son” and “Morning Has Broken” by Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam), as well as music by Passenger. I also have a deep love for traditional Kurdish music, which always reminds me of home and my roots.
Books: I have to admit, I haven’t been the most dedicated reader lately—I tend to be a bit lazy when it comes to books. But I’m hoping to change that and slowly get into the habit of reading more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
“One amazing thing I have done is step out of my comfort zone to connect with people from around the world. Whether through volunteering, studying, or traveling, I’ve taken every opportunity to learn from others and share my own culture. These experiences have not only broadened my understanding of the world but also helped me grow into a more open-minded and empathetic person.”
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I have a strong passion for teaching, especially when it comes to languages. I enjoy helping others learn and grow, and there’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing someone understand something new because of your guidance.
Share: One thing I love to share is my mother’s incredible cooking. Her dishes are full of flavor, love, and tradition. If you ever visit, you definitely won’t go hungry—there’s always something delicious on the table!
What I Can Share with Hosts
When you stay with me, you’re more than just a guest—you’re part of the family. I can offer you a comfortable bed, a hot shower, laundry access, and of course, plenty of tea. One of the best parts of your stay will be enjoying authentic homemade Kurdish food, lovingly prepared by my mother—you definitely won’t leave hungry!
I’d also be happy to show you around Soran and introduce you to the charm and hospitality of our region. And if you’re planning to explore the breathtaking north of Iraq, don’t miss the chance to trek, hike, and discover the natural beauty of Kurdistan—its majestic mountains, serene lakes, and stunning waterfalls.
