We (Catherine and Jack) are planning to travel around Europe from Sep 8 until Dec 6. Catherine's never been to Europe before, so we'll have a lot to see.

We are friendly, easy going, and a bit geeky. We enjoy meeting new people, and visiting interesting places.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Jack: Couchsurfing is awesome. When I traveled during university, CS was always the best way to visit a city because it feels like you're visiting friends. This will be Catherine's first CS experience, so I'm looking forward to showing her how great it is.

Interests

The main one would have to be traveling, in particular exploring nature (hiking, kayaking, swimming), and exploring unique cities (and eating the food).

We also enjoy cooking, board games, video games, interesting conversations about anything and everything, and generally trying out new things.

Movies: Musicals: Pitch Perfect, Hairspray, Moulin Rouge, The Lion King. Animated movies: Wreck-It Ralph, Inside Out, Up, Howl's Moving Castle. Marvel movies: all of them! Science fiction: Interstellar, Inception, The Matrix.

Catherine: Trek to Mt Everest base camp.

Jack: Hiked an active volcano (Mt Tongariro). (Actually Cat did this too).

Teach, Learn, Share

You could ask us anything about our professions (software engineering and medicine) but that's a bit boring. We've had many hobbies over the years that we can probably still teach you about: juggling, poi, photography, cooking, card/board games.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good company =). Travel experiences, advice about any of the places we've been.

Also, some of our culinary specialties: Jaffle meat pies, lasagna cupcakes, nutella-filled pancakes.
