I'm from Belgium originally but have been living in Cancun since 2010. I'm open minded and love meeting people from around the world, especially now that my schedule doesn't allow globetrotting as often as I'd like to, it's nice to at least travel vicariously.
During the week I'm quite busy since I run both an international software company and a local real estate rental company, which is why - with very few exceptions when I can find the time - I only do CS on weekends (Friday eve to Sunday). If you would like to stay during the week or for more than two days, please check out my Airbnb listings instead at:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started hosting people during the last few months of my time in Malta, in 2009. After departing from Malta, I surfed couches in Madrid, Barcelona, Phuket, New York and Austin. The friendly surfers in Austin recommended me to cut short my 3-month trip in the USA and head to Mexico instead. The first city I landed in - Cancun - was so much fun that I decided to stay for a few months to learn Spanish. Those few months by now turned into years :-)
I'm currently into gymnastics, squash, snowboarding, most water sports, travel and in general trying anything at least once (as long as it won't kill me). I would like to learn AcroYoga, kickboxing and aerial silk.
Music, Movies, and Books
I prefer comedy movies but I don't watch them very often. Series are more my thing. I like many different kinds of music, depending on my mood. Regarding books, I have to admit that I never read any fiction but I do have books about biology and other non-fiction. I'm really interested in how humans operate both physiologically and psychologically.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'd have to say the best travel experience in my life was a trip to China with 10 good friends; we rented a crappy basement room in a hotel in Beijing for about $1 per night which had fungus on the walls and water dripping from the ceiling. Then in Shanghai we had a huge serviced apartment on the 30th floor of some luxurious building. Quite the contrast, as is often the case in China.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a very long to-do list when it comes to learning things, including surfing, dancing (from ballroom to breakdance), flying a plane, freediving, etc. I hope I live long enough to finish my list. :-)
What I Can Share with Hosts
A comfortable place to stay and hopefully an amazing experience.
