About Me

I'm Ketan, a 29-year-old adventure enthusiast with a heart full of wanderlust. Professionally, I run a digital marketing agency called Bleqk Media. A company that helps other cool businesses leverage social media and find lots of happy customers for their businesses.

Personally, I'm an explorer. Traveling to far-off places, meeting new people, and immersing myself in diverse cultures are my life's greatest joys. Really! I have an insatiable curiosity for the stories of individuals I meet along my journeys, and I find immense inspiration in their experiences and perspectives. This difference in culture is what makes this world more beautiful than ever.

Food is another one of my great loves, and I believe that trying new dishes is a delightful way to experience a culture. I'm constantly seeking new adventures to embark upon. Whether it's trekking through lush green mountains, exploring bustling city streets, or lounging on a pristine beach, I love to embrace the adventures that come my way.

In my world, the pursuit of knowledge, experiences, and unforgettable moments is a way of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, there are plenty of reasons why I am here. But if you ask, I will say, I want to live life like a local in a city where I am a foreigner. I don't want to be a typical tourist who goes to popular spots, takes a few pictures, and then moves on to the next place. That's not how I want to travel.

I want to put myself in the shoes of a local to live life like them. That's the real reason for me being present here.

And the same thing for hosting people at my place.

If I can't go somewhere, let the 'somewhere' come to me.

The connections that you make, stories that you share, and memories you create is...
PRICELESS.

Something that you can't do while staying in hotels.

Interests

"Nature heals the soul." This rings especially true for me, considering that I live in one of India's bustling megacities- Ahmedabad. Life moves at a rapid pace, people are caught up in their daily routines, and the serenity of nature often feels like a distant dream.

So nature is something that has an incredibly soothing effect on my mind and my happiness. The gentle caress of ocean waves against your feet, the refreshing touch of a cool breeze on your skin, the majestic presence of a towering mountain before you, the dance of river ripples stirred by the air, and even the affectionate gesture of a dog's lick on your face. All these things together make me feel peaceful and happy, like when the sun rises after a dark night.

I really enjoy trying new things. When I visited Amsterdam, I got the chance to ride a boat along the canals. The person steering the boat was so laid back, and I remember how cool that felt. And in Budapest, I had a blast dancing with the local people. In Bratislava, we went swimming in the lake along with other hostellers.

The feeling of stepping into the unknown, whether I'm getting to know a different culture, trying things I've never done before, or going to places I've never been, makes me feel like I'm falling in love with the world all over again.

Music, Movies, and Books

If there's one thing that gets my heart racing, it's action-packed movies that keep me on the edge of my seat. The latest Mission Impossible movie hit all the right spots.

I like to enhance my marketing and business knowledge through various books. I just finished '1 Page Marketing Plan' by Allan Dib. Currently, I am reading "Pre-suasion" by the incredible Robert Cialdini.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Made my clients go viral (Million+ views)
- Boarded the flight last (Yes. Everyone was staring)
- Volunteered in Italy (Made Indian food for them every day)
- Fired from the job and went on a bike trip the very next day
- Got fined in Prague (Didn't know I needed to validate the ticket)
- Quit the job, and started my masters in the UK with no connections and place to stay
- And the list is long.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I can teach you: Cooking, a bit of Indian history, Digital Marketing, Content Creation, Video Editing, Personal Branding, Storytelling.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share everything I know with hosts.

I have a good social following (20k+) so I can share my knowledge of content creation and use of psychology in the business or whatever you do.

I am an excellent cook. I am not saying this but all the hosts with whom I have stayed. If you like Indian food, I would love to make traditional Indian dishes that will make you go wow. I have been using CS on my Europe trip and all the hosts literally fell in love with food and flavours.
