I am currently an undergraduate student at Ohio State University studying physics and neuroscience. I am traveling around Europe and the UK with my girlfriend looking to meet new people.

Hiking, ultimate frisbee, football (soccer), and pretty much any activity outside are what I like to do the most. I am interested in discovering new music and books to read. I am fairly laid back and easy going and I am always excited to learn about others' interests.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My girlfriend and I are traveling around the UK and Europe because I had a 6 week research program, and she graduated from university in may 2015. Hostels are a great place to meet other people, but when we can meet locals and hang out with them while we are in the cities we visit, we find we form a better relationship as well as learn more about their home.

Interests

I absolutely love music and being outide. I am always willing to meet up with friends for a quick pick-up game of something, or even just sit and appreciate a view. With my studies, I am currently intserested in the bridge between physics and neuroscience. I love to learn and talk about ways that physics and engineering can be used to understand consciousness and the enormous complexities of the brain.

I like a wide variety of music anywhere from Elliott Smith to the Grateful Dead.

Music in no order: Elliott Smith, Against Me!, Circa Survive, Ben Howard, Beirut, BOTAR, Steetlight Maifesto, Brett Dennen, Bright Eyes, Good Old War, The Shins, Chon, Talkdemonic, Modest Mouse, The Decemberists, Half Moon Run, Dave Mattews Band, Iron And Wine, Local Natives, The Raconteurs, Minus the Bear, The Tallest Man on Earth, and more.

Its probably not too suprising that I like sci-fi books and movies since I am a physics major, but similarly to my music interests, I like a wide variety of genres. I would have to say my favorite books are the Hitchikers Guide series, and my favorite movie is either Gardenstate or Interstellar.

Other Movies: The Big Lebowski, Pulp Fiction, The Lord of the Rings, anything directed by Wes Anderson (The life Aquatic, The Grand Budapest Hotel, etc.) Django, Spaceballs, Fargo, and more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took the opportunity to travel around Iceland by myself after I graduated from highschool. It really piqued my interest in traveling and I have tried to get out as much as possible since then.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my love of music while helping out around the house in any way that I can. Also, I understand that most people are disgusted when they hear someone talking about boring ol' physics, but if for some reason you would like to hear some mind-blowing things I have learned at university, I would be happy to share that as well.
