About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Moving to Central Florida (Orlando metro area) in December 2025.
Working towards an A2 level of Turkish by March 2026.

BEFORE REQUESTING A COUCH

I have set my hosting availability to "maybe accepting guests" due to me moving across the country in December of this year. I have already gotten rid of most of my furniture and bedding and therefore my house is quite empty. My last couple of months in Colorado I will be traveling frequently between Alamosa and Loveland which complicates hosting. For this reason absolutely no last minute couch requests; please give me at least a week or two heads up so that I can work with you and find you a place to stay.

It is imperative that you like dogs before requesting a couch from me because my six year old dog Santi (66lb/30kg) is very affectionate and will want your attention. If you don't like dogs then please refrain from sending me a couch request. He is usually with me at all times.

I can take you hiking, rock climbing, stargazing. to hot springs and sand dunes in and around the San Luis Valley especially if it's on a weekend or after 1800 (after work).

ABOUT ME

IG: _kevinpost

I love hearing about other people’s passions and stories.

Relationships, language, nature, outdoor objectives and revolutionary optimism are my primary objectives for travel.

I enjoy the outdoors no matter the weather but also love being rewarded after my outdoor adventures retreating to a cozy environment with a good meal, hot shower, book, tea and engaging conversations.

I don't care for alcohol or drugs of any kind but wont judge you if you like to partake.

When I travel I like a nice balance between adventure and relaxation.

In rural places I like to get an intimate glimpse of a culture and way of life.
In nature far away from civilization I partake in outdoor activities to truly recharge.
In vibrant and bustling urban centers I look for unique community spaces, bookstores (used or radical), music venues or parks with musicians present, theaters, coffee shops, and libraries.

I enjoy spending time with locals and immersing myself in local cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Some of the strongest, most fulfilling relationships I have ever had were in someway linked to Couchsurfing. I literally spent my entire adult life using Couchsurfing and honestly cannot imagine my life without it.

Music, Movies, and Books

A list of some books I am currently reading and have read here: www.goodreads.com/kevinpost
I get a lot of inspiration from books.

I am almost exclusively watching movies in Turkish for the comprehensible input, although I am trying to watch more artistic films when time allows for it. My all time favorite movies happen to be musicals because I grew up watching them as a child with my great grandmother and mother which gives me a huge sense of nostalgia.

My music tastes are greatly affected by the mood, circumstances or environment I'm in. Let's compare, show me your playlists! I’ve been on a Kurdish music kick lately.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Experienced mutual aid and have fallen madly in love.
