I am an outgoing person living in Northeast Ohio. I am raising my sixteen year-old son. I want to improve my fitness level so that I can go on a backpacking trip. There are a few mountain ranges and national parks that I would like to visit.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
There are still ten-twelve states that I have not yet visited. One day, I want to get to all 50! I enjoy meeting new people, cities and restaurants.
Music, Movies, and Books
I like to listen to pop music, R&B, oldies, soft rock. Luther Vandross, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige. I enjoy dramatic movies. I have a category of films which I call: Shoot `em Up. If there is shooting in a movie or things that explode, they would fit into this category. I enjoy mostly non-fiction. I like biographies and to read about things which are real and can educate me. It is fun to gt lost in a juicy novel once in a while though.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I became a group leader with Celebrate Recovery. It`s a Christ-centered 12 step program which adresses any hurts, habits or hang-ups. I was able to get real healing from anger, domestic violence and depression. Thanks be to God.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to swim and I used to teach swimming lessons for the YMCA. I have an adult daughter, a grandson and a teenage son; plus many years of child care experience. These have left me with some great story telling abilities. I love to cook and usually not with a recipie. I can make a meal out of some veggies, any starch and meat or seafood.
What I Can Share With Hosts
I can share my sense of wonder of the world we live in. I can share my experience growing up a biracial kid in a mostly white environment. I can my adventure of living in California for ten years from 1989-1999. I am friendly, respectful and accepting. I once had a transgender roommate. This did not bother me one bit. I strive to treat others with respect and dignity and without labels.
My Interests
I enjoy intellectual conversations, going dancing or finding a local band that I have not heard before. There are always more restaurants that I want to try out.
