Hej Hej,

I'm Kimberley, a french girl from Lyon. My super dream is to discover the world, and especially few countries in the North. Don't know for which reason but I'm in love with cold weather, firtrees and snow. In general, I'm someone loving hike, different kind of activities in nature. Maybe an outdoor girl ! Truly, I like to sit on the grass, on a rock, to enjoy the landscape. I like to take time, to see the beauty around me. I'm a bit shy at the beginning, but with a drink, music, movie, or just a great time around a fire, I will become really talkative and interested on many things.

Last year, I've done a big road trip alone in few scandinavian countries : Denmark, Sweden and Norway. It was probably one of my best experiences in my life. Because I've discovered a part of the world, new landscapes, a wonderful nature, people (friends now), cultures, and also myself. Maybe traveling is one of the best way to push away our fears, to reach new goals, to break our limits.

About my cursus :
I studied literature, medieval history and cinema at the university. I have today my diploma, master diploma.

In this moment :
I've moved to Sweden, Stockholm, in february. Now, I'm in France for a bit, to enjoy my relatives and friends, before to come back and start a new life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used a lot couchsurfing during my first trip alone, and for me it was a perfect way to discover a country. I mean, couchsurfing gives the possibility to enjoy a new culture, a new place, with new people, in the name of respect and humanity. Even if sometimes, I go to hostel, I prefer to use this platform. Not just because it's for free. It's also an amazing way to discover deeply a culture : thanks to my last hosts, I could discover unknown places, try great food, speak about languages, and others.

I want to use Couchsurfing again for that. For this beautiful human wealth.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like music in general. It's a bit hard to chose one, but maybe I'm more interested on rock / pop / alternative and classical music. I was in love with Muse for many years. Today, I prefer to discover often new bands. Especially, recent bands.

I love movies. I grew up with cinema thanks to my family. So no worries, I will love if you want to spend time in front of the tv with me ! I like author films. Xavier Dolan is maybe one of my favorite. Nevertheless, I like to forget everything when I watch a Lord of the Rings, an Alien or a horror movie.

I've read many books before. My studies pushed me to read old writers. So I'm used to read a Victor Hugo, a Jean-Jacques Rousseau, a Shakespeare or an Edgar Allan Poe book. I like also philosophical narratives.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I sailed with whales.
I've done a part of the Kungsleden in Norrlands.
I climbed high mountains, two summits of Seven Sisters in Norway. And few summits in France.
I met Navajo and Pekuakamiulnuatsh American Indians.
I met Sami people and their reindeers.
I traveled alone in Scandinavia.
I'm a godmother of a polar bear and her cub in Alaska.
