About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To feel alive

ABOUT ME

I'm 25 and I've just finished my degree in Film and TV Studies at the University of Glasgow. I grew up in Finland where I grew accustomed to reading on the subway and being close to the sea. Now I've learnt to love rivers and being enveloped in white fog from time to time.

I love being buried in books as well as wandering aimlessly in forests and finding hidden places in strange cities. The world fascinates me. I'm obsessed with languages and have an overwhelming wanderlust.

I cannot wait for everything to come.

PHILOSOPHY

I think it's a wonder that we all happen to exist right here, right now. That everything happens today.

I'm rather fond of the idea of wabi-sabi - the idea of finding appreciating the beauty of life that is always imperfect, impermanent and incomplete.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Though my circumstances are currently in constant flux, I may be able to offer a couch from time to time, and even if I can't, I'd be very happy to meet up for a coffee and show some nice little things I've discovered here so far. I am hungry for new experiences and I would love to meet people from all around the world and learn much from them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed twice, and both of those experiences were really wonderful. Haven't had the chance to host anyone yet.

I'd really love to become more active in the near future as I'm starting to increasingly resemble a kite - that is to say, I've little roots left and I quite like it that way.

Interests

Most of all, I love stories. Books and films and whatnot, yes, but also (especially!) stories by people. By you. Stories that you've lived, that you've half-imagined and half-experienced, that you've heard, that you barely remember. Stories you are making now. I believe that life, overall, is a story, or a collection of them, and I want to live in a way that makes for a good story.

Other than that: nature, theatre, storms, birds, fiction in all its forms, hidden places, languages, the impossible art of translation, learning.
