About Me
Hi 🌻
My name is Ksenija, and now I live in Haarlem, Netherlands, while studying Design Cultures at VU Amsterdam.
I am interested in art, travelling, movie making, board games and people. Being in different countries, the most worthwhile thing is to live like the inhabitants. This approach to travelling helped to treat every place I went to as unique and precious.
At the moment, I am searching for the place where I belong in terms of career and profession :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It is a great possibility to meet new people and know more about the country, city directly from locals ✨
Also, it is an opportunity to explore myself, help others to explore themselves, to know what we want from life by talking with each other, so different people around the world.
While studying, I have noticed that my social life is not present as much as I wish it would be, so it is a bliss to meet Couchsurfing people and connect so well so quickly :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I love 80s-90s culture a lot! Music, clothes, movies and moves. Often read books, mostly novels, and two of my favourite books are The Lovely Bones and Fight Club 💪🏻
From movies, I have liked almost all films with Jim Carrey since childhood. Also, I enjoy philosophical movies with crime, like Basic Instinct 🗡
TV shows which were interesting to me:
• Black mirror
• Sherlock
• Office
• Friends
• Blindspot
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Moved from a small town in Latvia without any idea what to do next 🤷🏻♀️
P.S. still don't have any
Tried Hitchhiking in January 2022 and still occasionally am doing it ✌🏼 People are amazingly friendly :)
Managed to study at UBC for a semester 🇨🇦
Teach, Learn, Share
I am from Latvia and used to be an active Erasmus+ participant. Now I am happily exploring the student life in Finland, which is so different from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam life and UBC Canada one 😄
Likewise can share my experience in travelling, I have lived in ten countries, in the mountains for a while, travelling solo and exploring a lot by myself.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can definitely teach you some Russian and Latvian.
We can cook some food together, play board games or go to a nice pub in your city :)
(I'm totally a beer drinker) upd: now I like white wine too :0
Love to organise outdoor activities and would gladly make some plans together for staying time.
