We’re Michelle and Iris, two warm-hearted girls from Hong Kong — nice to meet you! ^_^

After COVID, we both felt called to explore the world, one country at a time. Every journey has helped shape who we are today. For me (Michelle), I used to be a shy, quiet girl — but traveling has brought me more confidence and sunshine in life (though I’m still a bit shy in big groups, haha XD). As for Iris, she’s blossomed into a beautifully weird free spirit with a heart of gold!

And now… we’re on a BIG TRAVEL PLAN — starting in Toronto, heading to Amsterdam, and then making our way overland all the way back to Hong Kong! This adventure will take around two months, and we truly hope to meet kindred souls along the way to create meaningful, heartwarming memories together.

A bit more about us:
👩‍🎮 Michelle (25) — I love exploring new experiences! My interests are pretty wide-ranging: I enjoy reading, manga, video games, hiking, indoor climbing, water sports (even though I can’t swim 😅), badminton, tennis, and anything that brings joy and challenge.

🧘‍♀️ Iris (28) — She’s incredibly caring and mature, and used to be a high school teacher back in Hong Kong. Always thoughtful about others’ feelings, she brings a calm and grounded energy wherever she goes. I honestly love being around her — and I think you will too!

We’re also both really passionate about spirituality and deep conversations — the kind that make you reflect on life, laugh from the soul, or just feel seen. We love listening to others’ stories and offering support whenever we can.

So if you’re open to connecting, sharing a meal, a walk, or just a chat — we’d be so grateful to meet you!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Beyond just seeing the world, we travel to connect — with people, with stories, and with different ways of living.

We’re on Couchsurfing not only to save money for our future long travel plans, but also because we genuinely want to make new friends and experience cultural exchange, even during short stays. We love the idea of language exchange, meaningful conversations, and sharing little moments that can leave a big impact.

We believe in the Japanese idea of "一期一會" (ichi-go ichi-e) — that every encounter is once-in-a-lifetime, and therefore deeply precious :) !

To us, Couchsurfing is about more than just a place to sleep — it’s about generosity, kindness, and mutual respect. We love the idea of strangers becoming friends through openness and shared experience, and we always do our best to bring that same energy to every host we meet.
