In 2018 me and my friend will start a huge project called The Unexpected Expedition. We will start in Cape Town in South Africa and overland by public transport and hitchhiking we will try to reach Nordkaap in Norway. We will be going through the Westo Coast of Africa. The aim of this journey is to break the stereotypes about this beautiful continent.
The start of our journey is slowly approaching and although this expedition is meant to be Unexpected, there are many things that we would like to plan ahead.
In each of the country we want to meet and interview all types of people from local activists, teachers and community leaders to social enterpreneurs and children; we would like to show you what the daily routine looks like, what the people dream of, what they think of Europe and if the things we know or think of their country are true.
We are now looking for friends, partners and groups in the countries which we plan to visit who might be interested in this project and would like to be part of it! If you know anyone in the following countries, let them and us know! :)
Countries on our way: #Namibia, #Botswana, #Angola, #DRC, #Congo, #EquatorialGuinea, #Cameroon, #Gabon, #Nigeria, #Benin, #Togo, #Ghana, #CotedIvoire, #Liberia, #SierraLeone, #Guinea, #GuineaBissau, #Senegal, #TheGambia, #Mauritania, #WesternSahara and #Morocco.
If you can dream it you can do it .. and I'm doing it... Life is now. Live it.
I do not feel grown up, but I do things I want to do when I grow up. I guess I'm lucky :)
In few words I am:
Chocolate and travel addict.
(Green) Tea Lover.
Springrolls and Dim Sum Lover.
Full of energy. Energy to run, jump, try and do things.
I do: (like to)
Talk politics. And Life.
Understand different points of view.
Get out of my box.
Test my comfort zone.
Push my comfort zone.
Find my comfort zone.
Get to know other cultures.
Wake up early.
Talk rather than party.
Over the past 5years I visited 55+ countries and experienced the impact our modern lifestyle has on the planet and our environment. When you realize how it all is connected it changes you. I try to go zero-waste, I like the idea of shared-economy and co-living. I am living minimalistic lifestyle and really have no attachement to the things I own (not that I own a whole lot of things either :D).
I also think you cannot say you don't like something if you don't try it and one should try everything at least once.
I am not a meat eater :)
I don't regret my decisions and take my full responsibility for them.
I don't (try not to) blame others for things. All my interactions started as my decision so I am taking the responsibility, right? :)
Everything that happens in any given moment is the best that could possibly happen to you. Enjoy. Live. Experience. Life is awesome.
I do like to talk. A lot.
I travel for the experience - the journey is the goal,
I'm usually camping, hitchhiking or staying with locals. No hotels, no tours, no private cars.
I have one plan - don't plan anything.
Just go, walk, run and move as everything around does.
I like to talk politics, culture, history... I am fascinated by how different people have different understanding for the same things and I think it is the root of many misunderstandings hence I try to understand how people understand things :)
I love to just chill and relax but I love as well to get into some deep conversations about life.
I love being around people and socialise but at the same time I enjoy having 'me-time'. I can't really stand dull conversations about fashion, gossips etc.. the kind of empty words that you spent hours listening to but at the end you realise there's nothing in it and you could as well just walk at the beach and watch the ocean and you'd probably learn more.
I started an organization that tries to empower local communities by building libraries and donating them to the people who manage them after completion. It is fully volunteering and non profit organization/movement/charity or whatever you like to call it. You can check it out on the links bellow or talk to me why I do not like it to be called charity or to use the word volunteer :))
