About Me
We are currently not hosting as we are travelling ourselves around South America.
IF YOU WANT TO STAY WITH US - READ THE PROFILE, PLEASE 🤗 WE DON'T ACCEPT NON-PERSONALIZED REQUESTS.
We are really nice, chill, friendly guys. And modest, obviously. But still somehow I come across as a really strict one when I write this "about me" part. In life I am not, but anyway - READ MY PROFILE.
A few most important things you should know about us:
🥇You are going to get 5* hostipality experience from our kids - 2 year old and 4 year old. They will treat you like their best friends, share their toys with you, tell you stories in all the languages they know (which don't include English), include you in reading bedtime stories and make sure your candy consumption is sufficient. If you think you will be able to escape their hospitality - I would not count on that. But they are really sweet, nice, friendly kids. Obviously, as a mom I am absolutely objective. There is more info about them below if you are curious (it was here in previous edition of my profile and I can't force myself to delete it).
🥈We live outside Helsinki, in Vantaa. It's a suburb. It means you will have to pay €4.60 to get to the centre of Helsinki and it will take you 30-40 minutes by a direct bus. We don't experience any inconvenience about it, but we feel like we should warn you. We are 12 minutes drive away from the Helsinki airport, but it is about an hour by public.
🥉We really prefer 2+ nights of stays. 3-4 nights is ideal for us. If it is just 1 night it feels like it is too fast and we don't have time to get to know our guests.
🏅I really have problems falling asleep when someone else is snoring. I am not a light sleeper, but snoring just disturbs me so much. So if you snore, please, consider looking for another place or at least warn me. Thanks for understanding.
🏅We eat meat. It has become very important for some people and we get a lot of requests with people mentioning their diet preferences. So we feel like it is fair to mention ours. You can eat whatever you prefer, no pressure here, and if you would like to cook for us, we will be happy to enjoy some veggie food. We are always also ready to share our food, so this is when you should be ready that meat might appear on the table.
That's basically all you really need to know about us. Below is old info for the curious ones and for our own memories:
We are a family of four.
My husband Janne, is Finnish. He is an experienced couchsurfer (profile - https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/niutj) and that's how we met, even though CS is definitely not a dating site. To our defence - we met at a CS party, not as a host and a guest😉
Our son - Viktor. Born is May, 2015. The most lively creature I know. Knows what he wants and will make sure everyone knows it too. Loves cars, planes, trains, and people who are eager to play with him. Still lives with the illusion that the world is a very friendly place and everyone is happy to see him. We hope it lasts as long as possible. He is a great traveller.
Our daughter - Nelli, born in February, 2017. I still wonder how have I managed to give birth to such a cheerful and adorable human being. She is happy 99% of time, loves strangers, smiles from ear to ear and just goes with the flow without causing any hassle. I wish I could be the same 😄
Worth mentioning: both our kids sleep all through the night most of the nights.
ABOUT ME
I like everything new, new occupations, new places, new ideas. I try to be nice and kind most of the time.
I adore travelling! I love to go alone on a nice journey and wander around the city alone. But at the same time I love big companies, noisy and friendly. And I always appreciate if there is a person near me to share the emotions and impressions with.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I registered at CS more than 12 years ago.
About a year ago we started hosting again after a long break and so far it has been going really well.
Please, if you want to surf at our place, be ready that our kids will want to get some of your attention too when you are around😄
Interests
I think there is a very important thing I should say somewhere on this page, so this field will fit. I regard CouchSurfing as an option to find real friends, to let in my life the people that live so far away from me that in "normal" life I'd never meet them. So I really wish to see at my place people that I find close to me. I understand pretty well that it's impossible that every person that comes through your life becomes your friend, but fortunately couchsurfing had presented me several amazing people, friendship with whom I'll cherish through my whole life hopefully. I can sometimes let in the people who just need a place to sleep, but you know now my priorities, guys =)
