ABOUT ME

I'm not as much a fan of traveling as I am for embarking on great or small adventures, which don't even have to be more than some 100 meters from my home. I have only been doing long-distance traveling since I studied German during my undergraduate, but I've traveled enough to realize that it's not the place, rather the people who make the experience valuable.
If we meet, you'll assumably find me in my ramshackle (so-called) Jesus-sandals, if not barefoot, and my beloved jeans and cotton t-shirts.

I delight in:
being resourceful
reading youth literature for fun and seriousness
cooking with fresh fruits and vegetables
hiking/wandering
exploratory and non-fiction prose writing
anything to do with language
reading maps
cutting my own hair
chasing tornadoes
dry wines, dark wheat bears and whisky

For american midwesterners I'm a little too direct and for most others I'm a little too benevolent. But you can decide for yourself :)

PHILOSOPHY

I always feel like I should be doing more than I am . . .but I'm also very comfortable with my passions and my mistakes. I think it's necessary to stray from being overly romantic, but to let yourself still enjoy the beauty of every-day life.

Interests

Let's get physical! ----> I'm used to playing many different sports for fun and competition. My weaknesses are swimming and dancing . . . and when I travel I generally run to discover parts of the area that I wouldn't find otherwise.
I tend to read and write a lot . . . and my stack of "Will Read" books keeps expanding . . . exponentially!
I find my interest in linguistics is leaning towards lesser-known languages and I've finally come to terms with my mother's "bad grammar" - I even delight in it :)
