G’day!

I will be touring Germany and France with an Australian band until the start of August and then I plan on spending a month or so hitchhiking from Munich to Istanbul. This means I won’t be able to host until late September but feel free to ask me for Sydney tips in the mean time. Always happy to meet new travellers!

I was born and raised in Sydney where I still live and work as a freelance musician. It’s a beautiful city and I am very grateful to live there but will of course take any excuse to be somewhere else.

Whenever I travel, hitchhiking is my preferred method of getting between cities. I have hitchhiked over 700 times in over 30 different countries and it has really shaped my travel experiences in such an incredible way. I know it is not for everyone but I would recommend you give it a try at some point. Of course, if you feel you are more prone to the obvious risks of hitchhiking, there are extra safety measures I recommend taking. Every other hitchhiker I have met has ended up making the same discoveries along the way about human kindness and the way the world opens itself to you as soon as you untie your journey from the constraints of plane/train/bus timetables and tickets.

I run a community space in Sydney called BASE Music, which offers music lessons, weekly events, recording studios, coworking and rehearsal spaces. It has become my passion project in recent years while performing music has ironically become my main source of income.
