About Me

I wil try to make your LA experience worthy.. Just think that if LA had Hawaii's beaches, and New York City's Energy and Public Transportation, it would be the best place in the world

Firstly, I would just like to say that I do enjoy meeting people period. I treat hosting or tour guiding like a job. I do it becuase I want to, not because I'm expecting the same in return. So do not hesitate to drop me a line. If you need a ride or help, just ask. Not like an hour before, but a day or two. I'll see what I can do. if you're host is busy or at work, than message me. Contact me, especially if you feel helpless/overwhelmed when it comes to seeing the sights.

I'm a very laid back guy born and raised in Santa Monica..My name is super French, Jean-Michel(not ending in lle) but I speak english like an american. So I won't sound like, "I sink zis, i sink zat". One of these days I will learn. In the last few years I have done some traveling off and on. Lived in Honolulu, lived in NYC for over half a year. I understand LA is not an easy place to visit when you don't have transportation or know anyone. Drop me a line, and I'll try to help you out. Assuming you've done a little research, let me know what you want to do/see. Please don't say " I would like to see Los Angeles". LA is like 8 different little cities. If you want me to drive you around, and just see the major sights, we can do that. If you want to party, we can also do that. I also volunteer at the Santa Monica hostel, and do downtown la tours two saturdays per/month.

* I'm also one of the Producers on the newly released Couchsurfing related documentary "One Couch at a Time" It's available for purchase here for only $2.95!

Here are a few things you should know about LA.

1) Lower your expectations just a little bit if you think it's going to be exactly like "Entourage" or "Baywatch"

2) If you don't reach out to locals, you're experience will be 50% as good/enjoyable.

3) The Ocean is cold

4) Most all bars/night life closes at 2am(some open at 6am, ask if you would like to know)

5) The traffic is bad usually anywhere going east from 4-7pm

6) It takes at least 3-4 days to see most of the main sights in town.

7) You don't need to hang around Hollywood Blvd, and the Walk of Fame for more than an hour or two. Rodeo drive takes about 5 min to drive past.

8) There are hundreds of Bars and restaurants within 5 miles of where I live.

9) LA is not a dangerous place unless you're in a gang, or at the wrong place at the wrong time. No tourist or local has a reason to be in those areas in the first place, unless it's your neighborhood.

10) Home to many famous celebrities DUI's(Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol)

11) Home to the most aspiring people who wait tables and/or bartend while going on auditions/sending headshots.

12) Home to the most conversations/interviews at coffee shops regarding a job/script in the Entertainment industry.

To not live it like many other people who are overworked, and don't realize they're more important things in life such as friendships, family(if you like yours) and having memories and experiences.
