Overview
About Me
Over the past two months, I’ve been traveling through Laos (3 weeks), Japan (3 weeks), Hawaii (3 weeks), and the Canadian Rockies (3 weeks). I will be in LA for a couple of days (2-4 of june), waiting for some friends to join me before we head to Las Vegas for a few days.
ABOUT ME
Hi! I’m Laurent. I love travelling, discovering new places, and meeting new people from all around the world. A few years ago, I used to travel a lot on my own and hosted many people through Couchsurfing — it was such a great way to connect with others.
Right now, I’m spending two days in Los Angeles and I’d love to discover the city through the eyes of a local.
CURRENT MISSION
Travelling, learning, growing, and sharing. I’m curious about everything and always looking to deepen my understanding of the world. One of my dreams is to one day build my own A-frame house — open, simple, and connected to nature.
A BIT MORE ABOUT ME
I’m not very tall, but I’m full of energy! I love hiking and being outdoors. I usually travel light — tent, sleeping bag, and good shoes (though I recently got robbed and had to rethink my setup!).
I love board games — or any kind of games, really! I always carry 5 dice with me, since I know several games that only use those :)
Next stop: Canada, where I’ll be living for a year with a Working Holiday Visa.
PHILOSOPHY
When you want, you can! Always keep a positive mindset

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A few months ago, I ended up doing a 5-day trek in Laos.
By the 4th day, our guides were completely drunk by 10 a.m. with some “happy water” (maybe you’ve heard of it?). One of them was so wasted he couldn’t even continue with us.
For me, it turned out to be an amazing experience — totally unexpected, a bit wild, and honestly, it gave me a good laugh!
I’m also an entrepreneur — I always have new ideas popping into my head (some better than others).
At one point, I bought a castle in France with my brother and lived in it for about two years — you could say I was a bit of a prince, haha.
Now it’s mostly used as a venue for weddings… but who knows, maybe it could host Couchsurfers too someday!
Teach, Learn, Share
If you want to learn how to play diabolo, say “good night” in Japanese, or chat about travelling, I might be able to help! Otherwise… well, I’ll do my best!
More seriously, I believe I still have a lot to learn — that’s actually one of the main reasons I travel. For me, the world is the best school there is.
That said, I’d be happy to share whatever I can contribute.
Oh — and I know how to cook crêpes. Good ones!
What I Can Share with Hosts
