About Me

Hmm all about me... :D Well I grew up in a warm family in many places in Finland. One big thing about me is that I have an identical twin sister and so it affects me in many ways.
I study folk music and usually a pretty big part of my time goes to that. I play the cello, the double bass and the electric bass and sing.
I want to travel a lot in my life and live in different countries too. So far I´ve been an exchange student for one year in Wisconsin, USA and just travelling in Europe.
I´m optimistic, happy, sensitive, empathetic and kind person and I laugh a lot. I also cry a lot because I think it´s important and people should do it more :D I don´t enjoy to hang out alone so much and that´s maybe because I´m a twin so travelling alone is a kind of challenge for me also. I enjoy very simple things. The happiest I am when I´ve slept a long night, eaten a tasty meal, eaten some chocolate after that and hanging out with lovely people, being in a concert or a gig, swimming, dancing or anything actually.
What I want to be is an independent, warm, good person who enjoyes life as much as possible and do something with her life to improve things in the world or simple in others lifes, little or bigger things :)

I don´t have a sertain philosophy in life. Just to enjoy as much as you can (eating, sleeping, watching, sitting, people, music, arts, well everything really), to be optimistic and not to worry too much (that´s because I´m maybe too carefree and often loose and forget things so I have to keep being optimistic, otherwise I´d worry too much of everything I´ve lost or forgotten :D) to be curious about everything and to respect, love and uphold everything beautiful such as music, views, smiles, art, everything...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My twin has done quite a lot of couch surfing and I think it´s a wonderful invention so now I´d love to be part of that all the time growing group of couch surfers! In the future I´d like to do hosting also and now when I´m travelling alone, it would be perfect time to do some surfing... :)

Music, travelling, books, long conversations, food, chocolate, warm people, art, films, swimming in the sea, sitting in the car and just thinking everything, yoga, long walks, surfing, snowboarding, dancing, singing, playing music in groups, studying interesting thigs like history, ethnology... Actually let´s say just everything interensting and beautiful!

Music, Movies, and Books

Well there´s so much lovely music in this world but maybe the most important ones for me: Illapu, Pablo Milanes, Yann Tiersen, Edith Piaf, Bob Dylan, Oliver Mutukudzi, Eduardo Gatti, Habib Koite, Buika, Astor Piazzolla, Faure, Sibelius, Satie, Angelique Kidjo, Miriam Makeba, Salif Keita, Leonard Cohen... The most I´m intrested in folk music from all over the world but then there´s so much different music which touches so deeply so let´s say I love beautiful music!

Movies: Nearly all of Kieslowski´s films - maybe the most a loved The Double Life of Veronique and Three Colors: Blue and Red, others: Volver, Abrazos rotos, Chocolate, Rent, Amelie, Kill Bill, Unglorious Bastards, Pulp Fiction...

Books: It´s hard to name the best books maybe because I´ve read more than watched movies or because most of the books I´ve read have been very good so just some: Barbara Kingsolver: The Been Trees, Animal Dreams, Tove Jansson: Moomin-books, Laura Esquivel: Like Water For Chocolate, Khaled Hosseini: A Thousand Splendid Suns

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was an exchange student for a year in USA and it was amazing. After that I´ve travelled a bit and enjyed it or course! I think the most amazing things I´ve experienced are just meeting amazing people and getting to know them! Simple things. And of course music. Playing with different people, different musics!

Teach, Learn, Share

We can have long conversations, or just hang out without doing really anything. I´m up for trying new things also because I think everything is nearly always fun! So actually I´m easy to hang out with and I can give you a open-minded, funny girl to spend time with :D I´m open for everything you want to teach or share because I´m a curious person!
