About Me

I am a very communicative person. I love learning all kinds of stuff, since languages until mathematics and phylosophy. I am graduated in Computing Science, but currently working as a language teacher at a school.

On my free time, I watch several series, and also listen to music and read books, besides studying languages a reading about history and culture to keep up with my trips.

I am a very open minded person, and always ready to talk about the problems and differences of the world - and the lessons we can take of them.

"If you admit the life is ruled by reason, then all possibility of life is destroyed." - Into the Wild

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I was living in Norway, I loved the experience I had hosting people on couchsurfing, besides the ones where I hosted - found out a great way to travel, meeting local people with amazing stories and life to tell.

While hosting, I hope my guests be polite with me and don't act like my apartment were just a B&B. I hope the guest enjoys talking and be willing to do activities togheter, share experiences, news and have fun. I can show around the city on my freetime and drink togheter - since Norway is very expensive, know cheaper places and free outside activities are very enjoyable.

While being a guest, I hope to propose a good experience to my host. I like to cook, and can make delicious brazilian foods, with the experience of one who has lived alone and learnt by force how to make a good meal. Also, I am willing to share my experience, learn local culture, best places to hang out and discover new ways to have fun. .

As every brazilian, I am a very cheerful person. So as guest or host, I will make you feel as an old friend!

Interests

Above all, I am interested in making friends -) and in all the awesome things that people have to share about their lives. No traveler has a simple life, and the details are just the best part!

Music, Movies, and Books

I am kinda nerd on these stuff. My fav movies: Star Wars, The Lord of The Rings, Matrix, Into the Wild. In the past few months, every movie I went to see in the movies was a super hero movie - Avengers, Captain America, Superman, Spiderman... So, take you conclusions about it!

On books, J.R.R.Tolkien is by far, my favourite author. I also like George Martin, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Bernard Cornwell and Rick Riordan. Books of fantasy or history are the ones in my shelf - be it physical or virtual. Snorri Sturluson and his Eddas are also an awesome reading, for any Norse Mythology fan - and also for the non-fans, of course. When I am ispired, I also like to write, and there are some poetries and texts on my DeviantArt page - http://leonardolv.deviantart.com/

On music, I am into metal. I prefer the Finnish Metal, with Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Korpiklaani and HB- that is where I started to learn finnish.
I also love brazilian music (Paulinho da Viola, Barão Vermelho, Zelia Duncan, etc), israeli music (Shotei HaNevua, Mosh Ben Ari). Not being so hipster, I am fan of old rock (and here goes Led Zep, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, etc) and new pop rock (Coldplay, 30STM).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Had a 40 day backpacking trip around Europe, did scuba diving, snowboarding, brewed my own beer, and without any doubt, worked as a tour guide for two seasons in Norway - the most beautiful country in the world. Getting paid to travel and talk to people is, doubtless, the most awesome experience a traveler can have!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you any language I know, from portuguese to spanish, norwegian, and a bit of hebrew. Of course I can teach you also to make several kinds of foods, and you will learn a lot about beers - to say the difference about Ale, Stout, Lager, Pilsner, Boch, and so on...

I want to learn anything you have to teach me, because that is my main reason to travel with Couchsurfing: learning from the people who enjoy accumulating experience as I do!

I am a really open person, so expect to know a lot about myself and my life while hosting me. -) You surely won't be disappointed!

What I Can Share with Hosts

All my experiences of life so far. I think I have lived a lot of things, and as any traveler, a bit more than the average working-student. So with me, you will eat food from several countries (brazilian, norwegian, israeli are the ones I am more familiar with!) while you are speaking in other languages about other cultures!

I am very easy-going, so don't worry about running out of topics: we will always get into deep conversations and when you realize, you will be questioning everything you've learned so far - because that is how we grow up hahaha

If you enjoy having a glass of beer or a cup of coffee, we will do that a lot, and every time it will be different from the previous time - and all that I can share with guests and hosts as well, and of course, if you don't have the time, I am always up to meet up and have some small talk around the city!
