We are Mayte and Leonie, a married couple of two women from Mexico and Germany. We love to travel and discover new places and concepts of living. We also love two get to know and host new people, sharing stories and interesting conversations.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We love travelling and think the best way to get to know a country is by getting to know the people who live there. We also think travelling shouldn't depend so much on ones income... :)

Interests

We love to do everything by bike, we don't own a car and we are happy about this uncomplicated and environmentaly friendly possibility. We enjoy Bremen as a very bike friendly city. We care about the environment and try to have an ecological lifestyle. Leonie for example works at an ecological market stall once a week and usually brings home ecological food.

We like nature and to be outside, for example during hiking holidays. About once a year we visit our family in Mexico.

In our spare time we like to be creative with arts and crafts. We both like to paint and build our own furniture. We also like cooking - especially mexican food - and to have cosy nights in with chocolate and movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leonie: My gap year spend in Mexico, Chiapas, San Cristóbal de las Casas where I volunteered in a educational project for children.

Mayte: Opening a café in my hometown in an area whithout a lot of cultural life, opening the space to non-profit artists and the local community.

we can teach: bouldering, cooking mexican food, Spanish

we are interested to learn: more languages, pottery, new recipes

we like to share: funny discussions about language differences and small bits and pieces of semantics
