CURRENT MISSION To see what little I can, learn what little I can, and do what little I can while I'm here to make the world a better place, having fun and making friends along the way. ABOUT ME I'm a 20-something suburbs kid turned city boy turned socially aware global citizen. I am funny and introspective, yet easygoing, traits that make me an excellent travel buddy, though lately I have been doing much of that travelling alone. PHILOSOPHY Open your heart and your mind to the experiences and perspectives of others, and life will do the rest.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I'm living in a spacious house in a nice neighborhood of the city. We've got a guest room and a beautiful yard full of birds. Bahir Dar is easily my favourite city in Ethiopia, and I'm happy to when I can share the wonders it has to offer with others. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE My personal couchsurfing experience has been limited to a one-night stint in Bali. It was lots of fun and I'd be happy to give someone else the same experience.
Music, Movies, and Books
Currently reading "Middlesex" by Jeffrey Eugenides. Recent titles I've liked have included: The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, The Sisters Brothers and The Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Finding myself alone in the massive silent and hauntingly beautiful temple site of Bagon in Cambodia as the sun went down is definitely up there, but there have been many others.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have considerable tropical agriculture experience and have an academic background in international development, environmental science and natural systems ecology.
My Interests
I am "into" music, photography, cooking, meeting new people and sleeping on couches. I listen to more podcasts than is probably healthy.
