About Me

I'm the kind of person who can appreciate the courtesy of a response even if it is to decline my request. If you are the same way then I'd love to meet you either way:) Otherwise, don't bother sending me a request.

I'm generally an outgoing happy-go-lucky individual. Quite friendly and VERY talkative. If you like peace and quiet then I will not be a good company. I find silence deafening :p

I mostly travel for work these days and so I host when I'm home in between trips. I usually treat my surfers as guests and will take the time to show you around when possible.

Having been born and raised in the Philippines, I am a local although I am of Chinese descent. I can speak some Hokkien (Min Nan Hua/Fu Jian dialect) to be able to manage a simple and short conversation. My Mandarin is kindergarten level at best.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend told me about CS and it seemed a rather nice place to meet and get to know people and make some friends. (It totally is a nice place for that - I still say this after a few years in CS)

If you want to be hosted then show that you actually read your host's profile. A personalized request is preferred.

Let me give a piece of advise to those who care enough to read profiles. This is coming from someone who hosts people in and out of CS.

We are hosting and opening the doors to our homes to you so we can help you save some money on your accommodation. In return, please try to be considerate that we are not earning from your stay, in fact we actually incur costs from your stay (water, electricity, etc...), please do not waste them.

- Your sensitivity and thoughtfulness is much appreciated and can change the experience for your host.

--As a host I do not mind sharing my food with my surfers and in fact I enjoy doing so and may sometimes go out of my way to buy you food to try, but mind you we are under no obligation to feed you.
--If you have taken the liberty to eat/drink from your hosts' supplies, it will be appreciated if you can help replenish some of those especially if you are staying a few nights.

Interests

I have varied interests and my curious nature almost always guarantees that I'll be up for anything. Some would say I am being a nosy Asian whilst I will call it insatiable curiosity. I have a thing for epicurean pursuits and pleasures. I like trying out new foods and restaurants.

I used to hate exercise until I discovered Yoga. Now, I am somewhat obsessed with it.

Music, Movies, and Books

You'll know this if you get to meet me or get to stay at my house.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Abseiling (zipline) and only because I have a pretty intense fear of heights. The kind of fear that makes my whole body shake and the only way I can do it was sit on the floor and slowly scoot myself inch by agonizing inch until I fall. To make things worse I had to do it 3 more times as the trail I took had no way back.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm kind of a Jill of All Trades but an expert of none. Nonetheless I will be glad to share whatever knowledge or skill I have.

I'd love to learn about other people's culture and experiences if they are willing to share.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Unlike some of the surfers, I am on here because I want to meet people and possibly gain friends. No matter how hectic my schedule is I'd like to make some time to get to know my host. I am not just looking for a free couch to crash without having to interact with anyone. If possible I'd like to share a meal, coffee or snacks with my host. Either it's something I brought with me or bought in the city.
