CURRENT MISSION To do what I love most to do, draw, paint, and research. ABOUT ME I'm intelligent and artistic. I love children. In my estimation, we start out as geniuses and, depending on circumstances, work our way into either imbecility or enlightenment. I'm a 63 year old "full-figured" woman (I like that term). I like people generally but can be a little shy at first. I've been an academic Library Director for 25 years and I'm looking forward to retirement when I'll start a "new" career. I will always be what they call a "life-long learner". I'm too nosey to be anything else. Finally, I like my independence. PHILOSOPHY We have no right to force our world (or other-worldly) views on anyone, particularly not our children. We must be exposed to myriad ideas and, in the end, decide for ourselves what works for us and what we can believe in. We must allow others to do the same and try not to harm them in the process (nor the earth nor the sky that we share).

Music, Movies, and Books
I like foreign films, listen to classical music, good, early, blues, and the oldies but goodies (60's & 70's). I've read Kerouac (I had a very brief telephone encounter with him long ago). I seem to like non-fiction at the moment.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
My own drawings, not that they're great but, sometimes I look at them and wonder who did them. I guess that speaks volumes.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've done my share of teaching and continue to do so. My interest has changed, however, to the study of historical cultures and what made them tick. I've done a presentation on the "History of Food" at a library conference and would like to continue to do these kinds of things.
My Interests
Drawing, Painting, and research into "nutritional anthropology"-primarily the history of food and culture. I like to cook, of course, but I also have a penchant for writing, presently political commentary...I'm on the left side of the aisle at the moment.
