About Me
CURRENT MISSION- Make the world a better place and enjoy your-self along the way
WHO ARE WE: Susanna is a biotechnologist by training and a banker by trade. Tobias is co-owner of an IT company (http://anykey.ch) that is helping schools succeed with integrating technology in the classroom. The best decision of our live was marrying our college sweethearts. For the first 12 years of our relationship we worked a lot and travelled as much and as far as we could. Now that we are parents we slowed down our lifestyle considerably. We both love working less, spending lots of time with our sons in the garden or at the public pool. We love nature and its creatures. Susanna is the kind of person who goes out in the rain to save the earthworms from the street. We are very much into cooking and have guests over all the time. Toby has bought a high-end bbq grill (at ridiculous expenses from Indonesia) and spends a lot of time kindling fire, roasting meat and doing other cave-men things that got completely obsolete when stoves were invented; but hey, the results are always great - so I won't complain. We all are very opinionated about almost everything. Except for first born son -who is so very stubborn- we're also known to change our minds after a lengthly discussions. We're not regular drinkers, but a nice bottle of wine served with our homemade pasta we wont mind at all. We're not real pot-heads neither, but we don't mind other people indulging a bit.
PHILOSOPHY: We try to be a good persons, to be kind to humans, plants and animals and to teach our sons to do the same.
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING: We love to host families who stay with us a bit longer. So we really have the chance to get to know you well and have lots of fun together and cook our most favorite dishes for our guests. We are working part time so we can show our guests around on most days of the week which we really like to do. Our sons are also a big couchsurfing fans and always enjoy having a couchsurfing friend or two over for playing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE: All our couchsurfing experiences have been great. Really great. We've met a lot of people from all around the world and every single person was nice, polite and great fun to talk to. Everyone was a real pleasure to have around and everyone was really nice and considerate with our sons.
PS: People who just look for a free place to sleep and want to spend their time in Aarau with someone else need not apply. We host people because we love to have a great time with them.

Music, Movies, and Books
Susanna is so into fantasy and SciFi and we've seen Lord of the rings a gazillion times. We love comedies but hate the "romantic" kind (why don't they just talk about their problems, dammit). Our household being populated with scientists (Susanna) and IT-guys (Toby) is quite a geeky one. Music-wise we're totally open-minded. We have to be because our original tastes in music differed quite a bit. Susanna still owns a Roxette album and Toby loves her nevertheless.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
hmm, our lifes are very plain and ordinary. So, no truly amazing things seen or done. I could of course list giving birth as "amazing thing done" but then everybody would be afraid of me showing them a video of me squeezing out Junior, which for sure won't happen. Promised.
The greatest thing we've ever done (not truly amazing though) was following an echidna for a whole day. God - I love Tasmania.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We do a lot of things but we're definitely not perfectionists. So we don't consider ourselves "sensai" of anything. But if you want to learn the basics of cooking (Italian, Indian, French, Swiss), knitting, canning food, crocheting, bbq-ing, sewing, German, hemp growing, Swiss-German,
Oh, I've forgot: Toby is a real genius with Apple computers. He can teach you everything (at length - yawn) about that.
