About Me

"alles mitnehmen", as we Germans say

I am a world citizen with a German touch. This means I love fizzy drinks, I'm still a student at 29 (I swear, it IS normal in Germany!!) and I can open beer bottles with pretty much any object.

It's my humble dream to see every country in the world.
Since I'm a linguist, I am pretty much obsessed with language and languages and intend to learn some languages along the way.

"There were never any good old days, they are today, they are tomorrow. It's a stupid thing we say, cursing tomorrow with sorrow."
Gogol Bordello

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hosting, surfing, going to meetups and events, hosting vegan CS-events in Berlin

Some very nice people offered me:
An air bed in Amsterdam. A floor in Amsterdam. A bed in Paris. A mattress in Barcelona. A bed in Barcelona. A floor in Barcelona. A couch in Berlin. A comfy carpet in Almaty, Kazakhstan. A whole flat in Almaty! A mattress in Dublin. An air bed in Los Angeles. An air bed in Harbin, China. A mattress and a bed in Lisbon. An airbed in Wroclaw. A mattress in Vilnius. A camp bed in Riga. A sleeping mat and a tent in Helsinki and Nuuksio national park! A whole room and bed in Kiel, Germany.

And I hosted some very nice people from Ireland, Switzerland, Germany, Israel, the USA, Argentina, Sweden, Poland and Thailand! :)

I also met tons and tons of nice people without hosting/being hosted!

my passion..
travelling, hitchhiking, living in foreign countries, learning foreign languages, alternative places rather than tourist sites,

my free time..
cycling, reading, writing, watching good films, outdoor cinemas, roller coasters, water slides, flea markets, concerts, moshpits, festivals, karaoke, eating watermelon, cooking vegan food,

my studies..
linguistics, linguistic relativity (does our language influence our perception?), language and gender, endangered languages,... i better stop now..

what preoccupies my thoughts..
feminism, anthropology, human universals, animal rights, white privilege, the racism, sexism and speciecism i see everywhere i go..

turns out life can become pretty confusing when you go places and meet people from all kinds of different cultures, questioning everything you thought you knew. i ended up constantly trying to figure it all out.
