ABOUT ME
I'm Liz, mid twenties caucasian woman, born and raised in sunny South Africa.
I'm currently teaching English in Korea, since after I graduated from university I was broke and had no idea what to do with my life. Now I've been teaching for a year or so, and have saved up enough cash to go traveling (all over South East Asia.. winning!!). After the insanity that is Korea (the regimented lifestyle, the extreme consumerism and materialism), I can't wait to strap on my backpack and get lost in adventure!
I'm an easygoing person, open and honest, and I have a pretty liberal outlook on life. I look forward to meeting some awesome people in awesome places.
Peace
PHILOSOPHY
My philosophy on life is greatly influenced by my study of anthropology and also the books I read, like the Bhagavad Gita. "Live and let live" about sums it up. I think that as long as you're not hurting anyone or interfering, then believe and do as you please.
To me, Life is an infinite mystery, driven by love. the purpose of my life is to find out who I am and what it means to be 'human' and 'alive', and to enjoy the ride as much as possible while I'm here.

Music, Movies, and Books
*Eastern Philosophical books like the Bhagavad Gita, anything on Yoga, Buddhism and Zen. Also like the transcendentalists like Thoreau and Emerson. Love the classics of English Literature too! Currently reading Don Quixote..
*Movies: anything intelligent, not 90% of the crap mass produced by Hollywood to make a quick buck. Love old school sci-fi and adventure movies. 'Into the Wild' is a favorite. I totally worship Bill Hicks.
*Music: Anything irie, ska, reggae, Sublime. Love old school rock like Hendrix, Rolling Stones and the Beatles of course. Also dig psytrance and drum n bass. Some hip hop, like Immortal Technique and Wu Tang. But my ultimate favorite is Mark Knopfler, what a legend!!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My fieldwork for my thesis at university. I spent 3 months living in a very rural part of South Africa in a hut right on the beach, no running water and no electricity. Getting a first hand experience of the locals' lifestyle was very humbling and gave me much food for thought. Also the scenery was stunning, and I got to spend 3 months living in a tropical paradise with daily fresh seafood, nights around the fire, and none of the distractions and hustle from the cities. It was a very memorable experience, one very far removed from my usual lifestyle.
Teach, Learn, Share
*As an English Teacher I suppose I could teach English? Also I'm fluent in Afrikaans (South African Language)
*I have a very basic grasp of the guitar and ukulele. I'm very interested in all musical instruments and would love to learn more!
*I am somewhat proficiant at painting and drawing, but I would like to be a lot better.
*I have a degree in Psychology, Anthropology and Sociology, and would be happy to share what I've learnt.
*I am fairly well read in philosophical and esoteric texts, although I don't know if that could benefit anyone beyond a drunken conversation :P
