About Me

Hey there! I’m Lucas, a 30-year-old Brazilian, ex-cook, ex-corporative bank analyst.

I’m curious about pretty much everything. I love discovering new places, new people, and new stories.
Books, comic books, movies, series, cartoons, documentaries, anime—you name it, I’m into it.

I’m the second of three siblings: my older brother is 36, and my younger sister is 18.

I was born and raised in Santo André, São Paulo, Brazil. My family is a mix—my father’s side is Black, my mother’s side is white—like much of Brazil, we’re a blend of different roots and cultures.

My first trip abroad was in 2016 when I worked as a cook on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, traveling the world, making new friends, and discovering new ways of life.

In 2017, I went backpacking through Europe. I spent a week in Ireland, just me, my backpack, and a small folding bike, cycling alone through the Irish countryside.
I stayed with hosts I met through Couchsurfing and WarmShowers (kind of like Couchsurfing, but for cyclists).
One of the coolest parts was riding the Greenway in Ireland, a bike path surrounded by nature.
Summer sunsets there happen at 9 or 10 p.m., so I could cycle almost all day long.
(Here's a video that gives you an idea: Greenway Ireland)

I love to learn, to listen to stories, and to tell them too.

"A man tells his stories so many times that he becomes the stories. They live on after him, and in that way he becomes immortal."
– Big Fish (2003)

Music, Movies, and Books

I dont have a favorite Music, but movies and books, I think I'm a huge Stanley Kubrick fan, and Sofia World is really good book, but until now, my favorite writer is Neil Gaiman, and one day.
And comicbooks is my passion also.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Human interaction, this was amazing for me, in my firts time abroad, even with a lot of differences, we still the same(deep inside, this make me see humans like a species, just like another animal, with same fears and dreams).

Teach, Learn, Share

Cooking and ways of thinking see the world (philosophy), and sometimes change the way we see things, it's okay, learn and figure out that, somethings are not the way you thing before.
No man ever steps in the same river twice - Heraclitus

What I Can Share with Hosts

Really good histories, and really good food, make with love. Cuz love always will be the main ingredient.
And a really nice and sarcastic sense of humor, cuz to work in a Fucking kitchen we need.(Just like Anthony Bourdain book told me ones hehehe)
