About Me

I Like this quotation from a poem of Antonio Machado who says :
"Caminante, no hay camino [...]
Al andar se hace el camino",
it means "wanderer there is not path, a path is made by walking".
I try to be and do that everyday, making my own path even if it implies choices "against the flow".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is a part of this path.
Travelling in a different way, meeting people you wouldn't have met, having a different point of view about your life, your country, your way of being. For me, a langage is already a frame of references, couchsurfing is a way to upset it, make you move.
One of the little treats I have is to learn idiomatic expressions when I'm in a new country. Like "break a leg" in english, "avoir un poil dans la main" in french, "me apunto a un bombardeo" in spanish...

Interests

Even if I work in the cultural field, I'm not really interested in "classical" culture. I mean I never go to see a play in a theater for example. What interests me is the way artists try to create WITH people (and not FOR) and go to meet them, to build shared meaning, sense. That why I'm very fond of street arts, street theather, street cinema, graffitis.
I also like sports. I'm not a high-level sportsperson but I enjoy hiking, running, swimming, playing tennis.
And as my father was a pianist, I grew up with music, and I can't live without it, playing or listening it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music : Ibrahim Maalouf, celtic music, pop and rock music, Radiohead, Angus and Julia Stone, Biffy Clyro, Incubus, ....
Movies : Mommy by Xavier Dolan, Tarantino, Miyazaki, La Vie est Belle by Roberto Benigni
Series : Peaky Blinders, Twin Peaks, True detectives, the Fall, Broadchurch, Top of the Lake
Books : "le Combat ordinaire" by Manu Larcenet (graphic novel), the Lewis Trilogy by Peter May (crime novel), "les Insurrections singulières" by Jeanne Benameur (novel)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I left my job to live my life and dreams
I spent the winter in warm pacific islands hiking and looking at multicoloured fishes and corals
I decided in 5 minutes to buy a plane ticket to see a friend and I did it
I changed my ways of consumptions for more local distribution, ethical and reasonable production

What I Can Share with Hosts

Simplicity in every meaning of the word :
welcome, benevolence, kindness, spontaneity
Sometimes, I'm busy and can just host people, but I say it frankly
Sometimes, I'm available, and try to make them discover my city, its "nooks" and local places, specialities.
