About Me

Hi there

I’m Luk, a Belgian guy, traveling around the world since 3 years, with just one backpack :).

Next to my job as a psychotherapist, guiding youngsters in their search on the journey of life, love spending my time with surfing, calisthenics, climbing, cooking healthy [plant based], reading and interacting with other people (and of course: traveling). I really enjoy to explore the world by the observation of phenomenons and to discover new places, experiences and people.

On my journey of life I think openness, connection and exchanging positive and light energy is the cornerstone to existence. In the here and now we can make a small and valuable difference with an amazing ripple effect for the collective. I believe there’s more in the universe than just words and evidence. As a reiki-healer I believe there’s a good energy that connects and enlightens every living creature. In that way, true connection in the present moment brings joy and love to all of us!

From my perspective life is a series of experiences, and every day reveals new adventures that we can colorise and give meaning to by finding true connection and sharing them with other cool souls. Living without labels and stigma's, and appreciate other persons for who they are is my perspective on making the world a little better.

Words that would describe my mindset are open and creative, free of judgement, adventurous, interested and discoverer of new insights and opportunities. I'm a dreamer that loves to reflect, doing self inquiry and philosophise with other people. I love to share a positive vibe! ;-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling and exploring the world is a mindset for me, and I think that finding new experiences, meeting new people, and embracing other cultures is the most enriching gift you can receive during life.
By connecting to local humans, I believe the most intense and pure, experiences are created. And for me it's by far the coolest way to explore any area.

I love to encounter and share authenticity in both hosting and visiting other couch surfers.
Traveling as a couchsurfer provides a unique chance to live in the present, be aware of the moment in all openness and receptivity and welcome every phenomenon that appears on our journey.
I really enjoy exchanging insights and perspectives on life, with people from all over the world. Great to welcome the world in your own apartment!
I genuinely believe that every Couchsurfing-experience can behold some life changing moments in pursuing the treasures of life.

“Porque, no final, a vida são momentos, né?”

Music, Movies, and Books

I feel that following quotes [and by extension the music, movies or books that they’re related to] resonate with me in this moment:

“I’m an adventurer, looking for treasure,” he said to himself. - “And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” - The Alchemist

“When you learn to accept instead of expect, you’ll have fewer disappointments” - “His willingness to embrace the unknown had set him free. Now the universe was his to experience and enjoy” - The Knight in Rusty Armor

“So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future.” - Into The Wild

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good bottle of wine, a nice conversation, positive energy and new memories? And if you want: I can give you some Ayurvedic advise or a reiki-healing! 😉
