Hey people! May I introduce myself:

My name is Maarten. I grew up (and still live) in a village in north Germany, located between Bremen and Hamburg. Why would I live on the countryside? Cause I´m a farmer and besides our family farm I run two businesses here...and I do like it besides that. I would describe myself as very open-minded, adventurous and curious. I love to soak up knowledge so do yourself a favor and don't take me to the museum.

After doing my apprenticeship I spend a while in Australia. After Australia, my second big round of traveling brought me to several Asian Country's. Since I'm back I work a lot, what I fully enjoy but travelling came a bit short in the last couple of years.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is probably the best opportunity to really meet random people and have a short glimpse into different peoples everyday lifes. You get to know anyone on another level staying with them instead of just drinking a beer outside in a bar. That makes it so fascinating and gives so much more than just a cheap roof over your head.
The same goes for hosting other people. Furthermore you make other ones happy by just being kind and offering your hospitality. Thats what lifes about in a nutshell.

Música, películas y libros

To make it easy for me: Life is to valuable to waste it on bad movies and series. When it comes to series, you can catch me with House of Cards, Breaking Bad, Homeland and so on. I love to watch documentaries and hope every time I do so, I would at least remember a third of it the next day.
When i read books (actually I don't read them, I listen to them - genius me) I try to get further education through journalistic/science books. When I listen to music it is current Dance/Electric but also House and some Epic Classic (best thing during office hours). It has to be music that gives me more Energy, so nothing sad please.
