About Me

Hey there! I'm Maggie! Here are a few things that I love.

I love animals! And I think it shows in all aspects of my life. I work as a veterinary assistant at an emergency pet hospital/shelter, I volunteer in wildlife and marine mammal rehab efforts, and I eagerly await the day I can adopt a dog of my own (for now, I just love on other people's dogs and dream)!

I love food! In an almost obsessive way. I was fortunate to grow up in an extremely diverse and abundant food city and pretty much travel to eat. Japanese cuisine is my favorite, quickly followed by Indonesian, and then fruits. I am always more then ready to try something new.

I love the ocean! Growing up right next to it, I feel like I can't leave it. Scuba diving is something I really fell in love with and am trying to do more of. I recently became Rescue Diver certified and am thinking about Divemaster program. I am always eager to hear from other divers, their stories and journeys!

I would love to meet you and chat about life, food, and travel! I greatly appreciate your hospitality and am always very respectful of your time, home, and privacy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Currently: I am taking a roadtrip in my own home, California, to see where next I can put own roots. I've never actually been south of LA! So, I am so excited to explore and see what's out there.

I'm a new traveler! And I'm so excited to see the world, but on a budget. Traveling slow and living like a local is how I like to do it.

I would LOVE to learn from you, and listen to any recommendations you might have.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteering with wildlife rehabilitation (specifically, marine mammal) has been really amazing and eye-opening for me. Being able to see and help these animals go from starving and injured to healthy and spunky is incredible.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Not the best chef, but I love food and love to share a meal and stories!
Watercolor illustrations are also possible, if you would like.
