Backpacking South America for the year with my partner, Becky.

ABOUT ME

I have a keen interest in the natural world. I worked for 5 years as a gardener for the National Trust before my first big trip to volunteer on a conservation project in Botswana after which I travelled a little of South Africa aged 21.
This gave me the bug and I spent my twenties traveling between studying a Bsc in Animal Behaviour, Ecology and Conservation, an MA in African Studies and an MA in Wildlife Documentary Production. I baked much of Europe, Africa and Asia and have also been lucky enough to see a few very special places such as Antarctica, the Arctic and the Galapagos
I now live and work in London as a communications manager at the Natural History Museum which basically means I write about dinosaurs.
I am currently taking a years career break with my partner Becky to travel South America.

I am currently traveling South America hoping to meet as many new people as possible and see their version of their country.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed around Europe and a little in Asia. This was almost ten years ago though but I am excited to get reacquainted with the community.

Visiting the Galapagos Islands and standing in the places that Charles Darwin did.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

As a student of Animal Behaviour I love looking at parallels between people and animals. I am fascinated by altruism the act of doing something to benefit another, a selfless act. There are many examples of this in the animal kingdom and supposedly in the human world but in my opinion not enough. This is something i think the couch-surfing project can improve. People helping each other and teaching each other new things.

I can cook reasonably well and feel I have some pretty good stories to share as well as some useless facts.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

Hopefully i can share what i like to receive which is a unique outlook on life and some tales from the road. I like to cook with my hosts and also spend time with them and see the places they enjoy in their cities.
