About Me

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Guatemala city but have lived in USA, Costa Rica and Korea for a few years. I currently live and work in Hong Kong. I love traveling but most Importantly love food! I like to try new things and identify my favorite snacks from the places I go to. Savory or sweet, my heart has love for them all

My native language is Spanish, but I can speak very decent English. My Korean is not so fluent but would love to practice.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is so much better when there is avocado for lunch.

The greatest thing in the world is to know how to belong to oneself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Can host during the weekends. Happy to share giggles, muchies, coffee and beers :)

Interests

I dedicated most of my early 20s to learning about organic agriculture, biodynamics, biointensive methods, permaculture, urban agriculture, community supported agriculture and other alternative agricultural production methods. One of my biggest dreams is to have a mushroom farm! :)

For some time in my life I worked as a cobbler/ artisan in Guatemala and I absolutely loved it! Guatemala is full of incredibly talented artisans, bright colors and amazing textiles. This was a life changing experience because it took me a while to find the guts to quit my stable (but sucky) job and work on my own projects. It was not always easy but it was very rewarding!

I lived in South Korea for 3 years while I was studying korean and doing a master degree. This is how I became fascinated with Asian cultures, history and of course THE FOOD! ♡

I moved to Hong Kong 2 years ago to start a career as a Coffee trader. This has given me access to the most amazingly delicious coffees in the world and this is why I love my job! I feel so lucky to be able to do something I like every day and to keep learning about it.

I share an apartment with other 2 flatmates in Kowloon side of HK and we are happy to host travelers during the weekends. We will give priority to solo travelers but happy to host up to 2 persons. :)
