Who We Are
Hi! We are a lively and curious family of four from Taiwan. Our family includes Dad, Lee, Mom, Mandy, and our two lovely sons, York( born in 2014) and Yale ( born in 2015)

Our Family
I (Mandy) am an English teacher responsible for international education at a public junior high school in Kaohsiung. I love teaching and sharing knowledge with my students and I’ve hosted Couchsurfers and invited them to my class before the pandemic. I would like to go back to couchsurfing and connect not only my family but also my students to the world. I am a foodie, and always eager to try dishes from around the world. I also cook a lot at home, so if you would like to try authentic Taiwanese homemade dishes, I would like to share with you.

Lee is a scout teacher at a public junior high school. He enjoys gardening and carpentry in his spare time. York and Yale are two energetic boys who love to explore new things and are full of curiosity about the world. They both are members of the school table tennis team. York enjoys reading a lot, especially history, while Yale is a people person who loves to chat with people any age and bring them lots of joy.
We prefer to meet people traveling with kids because the kids can learn and build a connection with each other.

Our Interests and Hobbies
Our family loves outdoor activities, whether it's hiking, cycling, or picnicking. We also enjoy visiting museums and historical sites and have a strong interest in local culture and history.

Couchsurfing Classroom Concept
One unique aspect of our travels is the Couchsurfing Classroom concept. We believe in the power of learning through real-life experiences and cultural exchange. By staying with local hosts, we aim to turn each visit into an educational opportunity, not just for our children but for the entire family. We engage in activities that promote learning about the local culture, history, and daily life, and we are excited to share our own culture and knowledge in return. This way, we create a mutual learning environment where everyone benefits from the exchange.

What We Hope For
We hope to meet you through Couchsurfing and share our stories and cultures. We believe that staying with locals allows us to experience the place more authentically. We are also happy to share our culture, bringing some small gifts and delicacies from Taiwan to show our hospitality and warmth.

Language Skills
Our English is quite good, and we can communicate fluently. If you are interested in learning some Mandarin, we would be delighted to teach you a few basic words and phrases.
